Palin on Hillary: Sure, respectable media would NEVER speculate about a female candidate's health

Remember this: The political media has no idea what real news is, because the view everything through the lens of political tactics. That's how you end up with moronic stories like this, in which it's treated as a basis for controversy that someone thinks a candidate's health might be a relevant point of concern in a presidential race.
But that's how political reporting is in America today. Someone questions whether Hillary Clinton is healthy enough to be president, and the story is not about whether she is or isn't, but about the fact that the question was asked in the first place, and how everyone feels about that, and what everyone is saying about that, and how that's playing, and whether that will come back to bite the question askers . . . because basically we're a nation of morons so this is how we talk about things, which explains in part why we make moronic decisions when we elect people to office. Anyway. If you want to really get a sense of how moronic this story is, ask Sarah Palin:
Hey! Hillary’s brain is off-limits! Leave her health records alone! Democrats are right – scouring records of a female candidate is just politics of personal destruction, and for the media to engage in it would be unfair, unethical, and absolutely UNPRECEDENTED. You can’t probe a woman like that because, well, it’s a war on women! Bunch of sexist, big meanies engaging in something heretofore unheard of, for shame.

America, you deserve fair and consistent coverage of relevant issues before deciding a Presidential/Vice Presidential ticket, so have faith the agenda-less media will refuse to push whispers and wildly inaccurate information about a partisan politician’s body part. Goodness, no one credible would print lies, continually harass a candidate’s doctor, disrupt local hospital staff, or even offer to pay locals to give “quotes” about her health records to be included in a “research book” by a public university professor (your tax dollars at work?) which the candidate’s attorney will need to respond to. Rest assured these self-designated protectors of what they obviously believe is the “weaker sex” needing protection in the political arena will elevate political discourse. Apparently, Democrats demand their next chosen one’s brain must be absent. Opposition – go there exploring a liberal’s brain and you find nothing; or, find something and you’re just trying to distract voters from the REAL issues. The obsession over Palin's medical records was pretty unhinged in some quarters, especially from Andrew Sullivan, who was convinced that Palin was not in fact the real mother of Trig Palin. As link above to the liberal site Salon indicates, an Associated Press reporter actually pressed the issue during Palin's pregnancy to the point where Palin felt the need to lift her blouse and show her round belly. You can question Karl Rove's theory that Hillary is brain-damaged, but how can that compare in any way to the insanity that has been directed at Palin? By the way, anyone who suggests it's not legitimate to question the health of a candidate for president is an idiot. The hours, the stress, the travel . . . I don't know how a healthy person does that job, let alone anyone who has any sort of condition. That doesn't necessarily mean we need political consultants like Rove presuming to do amateur diagnoses - but hell yes it's a legitimate question. Has the political media really become so idiotic that it can't understand that?
