AAH calls on Warren to "Do the right thing" and demand jis information be removed from ISNA's website

Pastor Rick Warren listed as official speaker for radical Muslim group

(Lake Forest, CA) Rick Warren, the popular evangelical pastor of Saddleback Church in Southern California, is currently listed on the “Speakers” page of the official website of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a group that the United States government says has ties to the financing of international terrorism.

Pastor Warren’s photo and biography are found on the “Speakers Corner” of ISNA’s website, underneath the photo and bio of Siraj Wahhaj, an “unindicted co-conspirator” of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. ISNA itself was named by the U.S. Justice Department as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. As well, ISNA’s website is currently being used to propagate material cursing Jews and Christians and promoting violence against women. Americans Against Hate (AAH) Chairman Joe Kaufman stated, “The longer Pastor Warren’s information stays on ISNA’s website, the more legitimacy will be afforded to the terror-related and bigoted group. As a well-known religious figure and as a representative of his church and congregation, the pastor should not be associating himself with hatred and violence. He should do the right thing and immediately demand that his info be removed from ISNA’s site.” AAH calls on those concerned to contact Saddleback Church to tell Pastor Warren to demand that his photo(s) and bio be taken down from ISNA’s website. During past communications between Rick Warren’s office and AAH, Warren’s Chief of Staff has acknowledged that the info is on ISNA’s site and seems very comfortable with that fact. Contact information for Saddleback Church can be found here on Pastor Warren’s church webpage. Joe Kaufman is available for interview. E-mail: info@americansagainsthate.org.
