Just like FDR did to Japanese Americans in WWII

Pelosi seems to think the GOP will put Dreamers in concentration camps

Nancy ups the crazy... Nancy Pelosi seems to think there's some correlation between the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII and President Trump's decision to kinda-sorta-but-not-really rescind DACA. "They," she claims, are "coming for" the dreamers - just as "they" did back in World War II. Yeah, it's the kind of ridiculous, deeply flawed, analogy that could only come from the stripped gears that power Pelosi's thought process.
As she puts it:
"A week and a half ago, I was in Chicago, and I saw this art exhibit that I was invited to see. It's called "And then they came for me," and it's about the internment of the Japanese-American patriots in our country who were interned into camps during World War II. While their family members were fighting for freedom for America and for the world in World War II, they were in camps. ..."And they came for me." And now they're coming for the Dreamers. This is something... We owe these Dreamers for their patriotism, their courage, their optimism to come forward, but it's about America too."
Ummm...OK. First, Nancy needs to study her history. In the case of Japanese Americans interred during WWII, "they" were the Democrats. Specifically, "they" was Franklin Delano Roosevelt - a man who, to this day, many on the left view as the ultimate political ideal. Camps are a stain on her party's history - which is why it was so weird when Hillary brought up "fun camps" back in 2015.

More importantly, nobody wants to put "dreamers" into camps. Depending on your immigration stance, you may want them deported. The president doesn't, but many do. No one wants them in costly camps that would keep them in the country. It's either going to be amnesty or deportation, so even the hint that "camps" are somehow involved is completely despicable. Finally, you might say, "Nancy's simply arguing that the racist 'they' are targeting Dreamers the way 'they' targeted the Japanese. She doesn't really mean camps are imminent." That doesn't work either, since the comparison doesn't hold water. FDR stripped the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens. Whatever dreamers are, citizens they are not. They are, by definition, here illegally. Some want to change that, and they may get their way, but to pretend their situation is - in any way - analogous to what happened back in the 40's is an utterly asinine insult to the citizens who suffered under FDR's decision. You can see Pelosi make a fool of herself below. ...and pretty much everywhere she appears in public.
