People Shouldn't Be Attacked

Some things in Safety are no-brainers or at least should be: • People shouldn't be attacked because of how they look; who they love; who they loathe; how they vote; whether officials agree with their activism or for any other reason. Expanding reasons we shouldn't be attacked should easily include and is by no means exhaustive:
  • People shouldn't be attacked because they're inside their homes
  • People shouldn't be attacked because they're outside their homes
  • People shouldn't be attacked because they're in their vehicles
  • People shouldn't be attacked because they're in relationships
  • People shouldn't be attacked because they're leaving relationships
  • People shouldn't be attacked because they're by themselves
  • People shouldn't be attacked because they're attending an event
See where this common sense thread is headed? An endless listing of reasons why people shouldn't be attacked touches things every reader either is or does. It's not "those" people who shouldn't be attacked. It's people. Period. People shouldn't be attacked. Safety from sudden violence is as much a human right as any other- or at least it should be. It's up to us to make it a reality. Not elitists who could care less whether or not we are attacked. #CapBlackSafetyCreator.
