People with criminal records urged to become magistrates

John Bache says barring "anyone who's ever done anything wrong" is "no way at all to increase diversity".


More people with criminal records should be hired as magistrates to boost diversity and falling numbers of people in the profession, it has been suggested. Chair of the Magistrates' Association John Bache said it was "completely erroneous" that those with an old, minor criminal record would not be considered as candidates.-- More....
