Piers Morgan: Obama scandals are ‘vaguely tyrannical’

Friday night on Piers Morgan's show, an amazing thing happened. He was interviewing Libertarian magician Penn Jillette and the two were discussing Obama's myriad scandals.
“I’ve had some of the pro-gun lobbyists on here, saying to me, ‘Well, the reason we need to be armed is because of tyranny from our own government,’ and I’ve always laughed at them,” Morgan said. “I said, ‘Don’t be ridiculous! Your government won’t turn itself on you. But, actually, this is vaguely tyrannical behavior by the American government.”

This is a far cry from his standard tactic of shouting, insulting, and berating anyone who would dare suggest that the government could ever get out of control. Back in January, Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro made news by trouncing Piers Morgan's embarrassing gun control diatribes during an interview.  You may recall the segment because, in it, Piers referred to the U.S. Constitution dismissively as "your little book." During their exchange, Shapiro pointed out the obvious fact that all conservatives already understand.  The 2nd Amendment isn't about hunting or even defense against criminals.  It's about resisting government tyranny. "I think," Shapiro said, "the reason that it's about left and right here is because fundamentally, the right believes that the basis for the Second amendment - and they believe in the Second Amendment - the basis for the Second Amendment is not really about self-defense, and it's not about hunting. It's about resistance to government tyranny. That's what the Founders said, and that's what the right believes in this country." Piers has never had an answer for this argument, so it's usually the point where he flips out and starts screaming. "Do you understand how absurd you sound?" He said. "Do you really believe your own government is going to turn on you in a way that you require an AR-15 to defend yourself?" "The reason," Piers mocked, "we cannot remove AR-15 assault weapons is the threat of your own government turning on you in a tyrannical way." Previously, Piers found it impossible to acknowledge the concept of federal tyranny. The Obama administration has apparently changed that. I won't insult anyone's intelligence by suggesting Piers has seen the light, but what a difference a few months can make....
