Pipeline break releases natural gas liquids, prompts evacuations in Iron County

Enbridge Line 5 just went down near Saxon, Wisconsin

SAXON, Wis. (Northern News Now) - Multiple homes were evacuated Tuesday afternoon in Iron County after a break in Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline.

According to officials at Enbridge, a parked, unoccupied semi-truck rolled into an open excavation site on a Line 5 valve project in rural northern Iron County, Wisconsin, striking a pipe and releasing natural gas liquids, or NGLs.

Line 5 down… You don’t say...this is more than a little bizarre. As Doug Ford ‘talks tough’ towards Donald Trump, Enbridge Line 5 just went down in Wisconsin. The optics are terrible. Line 5 primarily feeds refineries and propane markets in Michigan, Ohio, Ontario, Quebec, and western Pennsylvania.
