International politics is a blood sport where every nation seeks to advance its own interests regardless of moral issues.

It's known as realpolitik. But, when Canadian politicians are dealing with dictators and tyrants of every stripe they know full well that they are not dealing with the usual run of self-interested opponents, but with evil bastards. William Bedford
