Now, now, children. Stop fighting. There's enough failure for everyone.

Pop the corn: Bernie trashes 'failed' Democrat Party for historic losses - Hillary flak fires back

Now that Barack Obama's time in office has ended, and his legacy is being wiped away by Donald Trump, the Democrats are slowly coming to a brutal realization. The last eight years weren't the massive victory Dems believed them to be. In fact, they were just the opposite. The far left may have held the White House but, by virtually every other metric, the Obama years were a spectacular failure. Now that they don't have the presidency to protect them from reality, lefties are faced with a world where their power has slipped to dismal levels not seen since before the great depression. In short, they thought they were winning everything, but they were just whistling past an ever-growing graveyard.

They put Pelosi back in power, doubled-down on most of their rejected policies, and are relying on an increasingly disregarded old media to sell their bogus narratives

They're still doing their best to ignore their predicament. They put Pelosi back in power, doubled-down on most of their rejected policies, and are relying on an increasingly disregarded old media to sell their bogus narratives. Meanwhile, the constant marches, riots, and politically correct sermons are still driving donors and voters away. Bernie Sanders has noticed. This weekend, he ripped the Democrats a new one, outlined their many failures, and proceeded to offer them some terrible advice:

In case you can't see the clip, he says:
"Now I am often asked by the media and others, ‘How did it come about that Donald Trump, the most unpopular presidential candidate in the modern history of our country, won the election? And my answer is that Trump didn't win the election, the Democratic Party lost the election. Let us be very, very clear. The current model and the current strategy of the Democratic Party is an absolute failure. This is not my opinion. This is the facts. Y'know, we focus a lot on the presidential election, but we also have to understand that Democrats have lost the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate, Republicans now control almost two-thirds of the governor's chairs throughout this country and over the last nine years, and over the last nine years Democrats have lost almost 1,000 legislative seats in states all across thecountry. Today, in almost half of the states in America, Democratic Party has almost no political presence at all. Now if that's not a failure, if that's not a failed model, I don't know what a failed model is."

Bernie - who used to think Hillary was a crooked corporate shill

After that rant, he offered some advice. It basically boiled down to: Abandon big business, and focus on social & economic justice. The problem, of course, is that "focus on social and economic justice" translates to "more federal power, more taxes, more socialism, and kookier left-wing social engineering." That may play in California and New York, and Bernie's faithful fans may love it, but these things have been roundly rejected by the very states Bernie acknowledges Democrats have already lost. Basically, Bernie is arguing that the Democrat bus is headed for the cliff, so it needs a new driver with a bigger lead foot. Meanwhile, Hillary's people are none too pleased. Bernie - who used to think Hillary was a crooked corporate shill, then thought she was the only person for the job - has gone off the reservation. So, they're firing back. Here's what former Hillary Clinton spokeswoman and senior advisor Karen Finney had to say:

Democrat brass thinks Bernie should just shut up and go enjoy his new beach house

Again if you can't see the clip:
"As someone who has actually done the work as part of the Democratic Party, made phone calls, knocked on doors, and, you know, every time when he attacks the party, one of the things that I take issue with, he is attacking those rank-and-file people who do the work day-in and day-out, local elections, statewide elections - we're not just talking about a presidential election, we're talking about people who volunteer their time for this party because they care about it. Bernie is certainly welcome to his opinion, and I know the bros are going to get all whipped up on Twitter when I say this, but he's not a Democrat. So, while he has every right to his opinion, I don't take his opinion."
This response boils down to: the Democrat brass thinks Bernie should just shut up and go enjoy his new beach house. He's not part of the club, he never was, and you'd think he would have learned that from the way the Dems shafted him in the primaries. Dems will do just fine if they stick to the Trump/Russia conspiracy theory.

The chaos is a beautiful sight to behold

Good luck with that strategy. The bottom line to all of this is that the Dems are starting to recognize how deep the schism in their party is, and they have absolutely no idea how to fix it. They know that moderating their insane social platform will alienate moderate voters, as will an increased socialist presence. By the same token, if they play to the center, their rabid left-wing base will abandon the party for the next socialist coot, or they'll just stay home altogether. When your party's entire strategy boils down to "resisting" and "obstructing," you know you have problems. The chaos is a beautiful sight to behold.
