The nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop PAC , Move America Forward Freedom PAC, has announced that they are endorsing Rob Simmons for the next Senator of Connecticut in response to the breaking news that Democrat front runner Richard Blumenthal lied about his service in Vietnam.
“We do not accept the story that he ‘mis-remembered’ where he was and where he served his duty to his country,” said Debbie Lee, a spokesperson for the PAC and the Gold Star mother of a Navy SEAL. Debbie’s son Marc Alan Lee was the first US Navy SEAL to be killed in the war in Iraq.
“There is a huge difference between fighting a tough battle on the front line, which is what Rob Simmons did for his country, and serving on the home front in relative safety, getting multiple deferrals and time off like Blumenthal did. To me it’s disgusting that a person would so blatantly lie about his combat record and his lack of valor. It’s like spitting on the graves of those who did see combat, those who did make the ultimate sacrifice, like my son.
“We are proud to put our full support behind Blumenthal’s opponent, Rob Simmons, a combat veteran of Vietnam himself, and a former CIA operative. I can’t think of anyone more qualified to support our troops in the Senate.” concluded Lee.
