How long will Americans tolerate paying these thieves’ bills? How long will Americans tolerate these anti-social public behaviors? How long will Americans tolerate wide open public thievery? How far does civilization need to crumble before Americans

Psychotic Behavior or Theft by Another Name

I recently returned from having breakfast with a group of real men at a local nation chain restaurant found along many Interstate Highways across America. The sweet young waitress (well, they are all young since our men’s group averages 70+) who we have known for years, had a very traumatic experience earlier that week while serving customers at this restaurant.

The customer group was a family of four—mom, dad, and two young boys who were 10 to 12 years old. After the meal had been served and mostly eaten, the dad became very vile and abusive in language and actions toward the waitress. This guy was verbally abusive, denigrating the waitress as a human being, and even throwing food at her. After trying to defuse the situation, the waitress went to her manager and turned the situation over to him, yet the customer continued the abusive attacks until the manager finally kicked the family out of the restaurant.

Either way, it was psychotic behavior that traumatized several innocent restaurant employees by a nut case or a thief

This event upset our waitress to the point where even we, untrained lay people, recognized this incident was a major traumatic event for our young waitress. We pointed out that this guy may have had a mental problem and set a horrible example for his boys and that the waitress was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and whoever served this family would have been a victim as she was.

Our little groups discussed this event, and one of the guys (a better man than I) wished we’d been there to go over and lay hands on the guy and pray for him. That would have been interesting, but as a Montana boy, my approach would probably have been a bit harsher.

As our discussion continued, we concluded that one of two things was likely going on. First, we considered that this clown was acting out inappropriately because of all the things in our culture that are becoming less and less civilized, as demonstrated daily by the blatant lawlessness spreading across our land. We also considered whether the whole thing was an act perpetrated on the restaurant personnel to simply steal a free meal for this family? Either way, it was psychotic behavior that traumatized several innocent restaurant employees by a nut case or a thief.

Our discussion continued and a couple of guys in my men’s group who are working for a nonprofit brought up another related issue that demonstrates a breakdown in civilization. This nonprofit recently was given four virtually new bicycles.

Theft By Another Name: Too many Americans have completely lost or abandoned their moral compass

The story behind this gift was that a local chain store had these bicycles returned after the customer used them for a local bicycle race event, and when the event was over, the buyers wanted their money back.

Another member of my group related about how upset he was because some of his relatives were engaged in similar behavior. These retailers have no way to sell used equipment and the manufactures can’t economically have them shipped back and refurbished, so they ended up donated. Good for the nonprofit, but bad for the general public because honest customers pay more to cover the losses of the manufacturer and retailer.

These are examples of theft by another name, but these are also prime examples of the reality that too many Americans have completely lost or abandoned their moral compass. Sadly, this is also one more example of the reality that civilization in America is disintegrating before our very eyes.

How long will Americans tolerate paying these thieves’ bills? How long will Americans tolerate these anti-social public behaviors? How long will Americans tolerate wide open public thievery? How far does civilization need to crumble before Americans say ENOUGH?

A note for you purists, I have been advised by a mental health professional that my examples and the use of “psychotic” does not meet the official definition of the word. However, as a layman that’s what it looks like to me and this is my article.
