PSYWAR as We Know It

Psychological weapons are as ancient as war itself, and have been used in preparation for, in addition to, or instead of military aggression. Whenever the target population is not foreign but domestic: oligarchy happens. Years ago, General MacArthur rightly considered that "Our threat is from the insidious forces working from within which have already so drastically altered the character of our free institutions – those institutions we proudly called the American way of life." (Lansing, Michigan, 15 May 1952).

Kill the citizen, save the slave

Greed is not the only reason for squeezing the national lemon. Overburdened with the increasing number of "duties towards foreigners" and deprived of their rights, impoverished people are criminated with debts, subjected to fiscal harassment and punished for not being able to cough up taxes higher than their income. The emblematic demand of the Communist regime: "try to prove that you are not a camel" financially translates into: try to pay triple of what you don't have. Values such as responsibility are being exploited in gas-lighting; a constantly bullied individual unable to pay the impossible "ransom" is to feel guilty and vulnerable. The classic strategy of demoralization brings self-doubt, frustration, often heightened by mental and physical exhaustion. The target should be broke and broken enough to say "I don't care about politics", then "the politics" is even more eager to "take care" of him. The absence of professional and financial stability amplifies the sentiment of having no control and ignites chronic stress. Our endocrine system responds with diffusion of corticosteroids; constant level of stress hormones suppresses the immune system and high blood pressure leads to heart diseases and strokes. It's fair to say that nowadays "Hearts and Minds" serve tormenting minds and is destroying hearts of "we, the enemy".

Standardized Terror

Many people confronted with the term "psychological terror" will immediately imagine being stalked by thugs, telephone tapping and being followed by a creepy car without registration plates. All of the above mentioned coercive measures have been traditionally used to poison the life of dissidents, but there are several "every-day life" strategies which gradually make an entire nation live in standardized terror. Terror is commonly understood as a very strong feeling of fear, and also violence committed in order to frighten people and achieve a political goal. Social psychology views the sentiment of terror also as a result of our internal conflict: "I want to live" versus "death is inevitable". Terror Management Theory (TMT) shows that humans find their coping strategy and solution to the conflict in culture. Since culture as a symbolic system provides life with meaning and has some "undying" characteristics, it is logical that threats to our values and beliefs increase levels of both subconscious and overt fear. Lack of accountability for the most hideous crimes accentuates a heavy climate of lawlessness and chaos. The concept of Law Enforcement fades away into the fog of mass surveillance strategy called "enforcement", in PSYWAR understood as the state's ability to use force to seize anyone they want, whenever they want. The very clumsy, yet arrogant propaganda machine is pumping normalization techniques into the human heart-beat so the crowd gets used to the new right: no rights for you.

Limitless Insanity

Our brain revolts if confronted with something perceived as abnormal or if given misinformation to process. Psychological warfare is experimenting with replacement effect: people will reject misinformation, but if it is dosed regularly, many individuals will "update" their thinking base with false information and will gradually become less reactive to blatant lunacy. The Big Lie technique has morphed into Limitless Insanity Strategy, where destruction, danger and corruption are being rationalized with senseless pseudo-arguments. Misdemeanors are not only obvious but so ostentatious that the self-inflated power-balloon is taking a serious risk of spectacular explosion. Well, disgust their minds and their hearts won't follow… Thomas Jefferson rightly observed that "An enemy generally says and believes what he wishes", and we've never seen more blatant and dishonorable "covert operations". Sun Tzu who taught: "Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness" wouldn't admire braggarts who crow about subduing "we the enemy" before the real battle has begun. Paraphrasing wise Bedonkohe chief Goyathlay ("Geronimo"): If one intends to play the knight chess piece's part with the Trojan horse, he shouldn't saddle the horse he won't be able to ride.
