Rapinoe: The New Star on “Hate America First” Team

Rapinoe: The New Star on Hate America First TeamThe newly-famous U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team star Megan Rapinoe demonstrates neither gratitude nor humility in her “Hate America First” activism. Rapinoe’s stinging negativity, I suspect, would be something she would never tolerate in a teammate, but nevertheless feels so entitled to display against her own country, which has allowed her to nurture and hone her prodigious physical skills.
I am trying to be generous toward Rapinoe, one of the captains of the USWNT that recently won its second straight women’s World Cup championship in France. The women’s team is a source of national pride, but Rapinoe’s antics are all too familiar, kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem, spewing venom against President Trump, and practicing the grievance politics of the Left. At the end of the day, she has an immature and inadequate understanding of life and what it means to be an American. Nobody would mind except that in this country there still are people stupid enough to care what spoiled athletes and actors think and say. Rapinoe’s grievance so that she can qualify in the “Cult of Victimization,” is that she is a lesbian, and the fact that she can now marry in all 50 states is no consolation to her. In a 5-4 decision in 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court discovered from nowhere in the Constitution that men ought to be allowed to marry men, and women ought to be allowed to marry women, despite that there was a federal law called the Defense of Marriage Act, prohibiting that. At most, reasonable scholars might have agreed that each state could decide on its own to recognize same-sex marriage per the 10th Amendment, so as not to offend Bible-believing Americans everywhere, for example. But apparently that’s not good enough for Rapinoe. The Left first wants acceptance and then wants forced compliance.

The hostility to President Trump began when Rapinoe said she would not visit the White House if the USWNT won the World Cup. Nothing new here; athletes have been doing this since President Trump was elected. And why are they hostile to President Trump? Because he represents American patriotism today, and the way that you show contempt for America is to vilify him. And this is where Rapinoe’s views are so underdeveloped. "Your message is excluding people,” Rapinoe told CNN’s Anderson Cooper when asked what she would say to Trump. “You're excluding me, you're excluding people that look like me, you're excluding people of color, you're excluding Americans that maybe support you." Rapinoe accuses President Trump of having a message that “excludes” people, when in fact, she and her crowd have simply “opted out” of America by embracing radical egalitarianism and socialism. President Trump and his supporters, by advocating Make America Great Again, are simply saying: “No, that’s enough, you little brats. We are going to pull this country back to its Constitutional roots of limited government, and restore the balance of power between the federal government and the states.”

The United States functions best when it works as a meritocracy, where people rise and fall based on their individual efforts. Yes, people are “excluded” sometimes, but we TRY to allow people to EARN their way into “the club,” the same way Rapinoe competed year after year to win her spot at the top of women’s professional soccer. America attempts to create a “level playing field,” maybe that’s why our country is so enthralled with sports, because it’s another way that people can “rise up” from the bottom and become very wealthy, as Rapinoe will soon as well. To continue her misconceptions, Rapinoe on CNN added about the president, “You have an incredible responsibility as the chief of this country to take care of every single person and you need to do better for everyone." No, No, No, Megan, sorry, wrong. The president of the United States is not supposed to be the caretaker of your little utopian nursery school. The president of the United States is the Commander in Chief, who keeps us safe from foreign enemies. Our country defeated Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and the Soviet Union, just as we will eventually defang Nuclear Iran and Communist China. America is an experiment. We the People will take care of each other in our communities which know better than the Swamp Creatures in Washington about what works where, because Alabama is not Vermont, and Texas is not Minnesota.

I couldn’t help noticing that Rapinoe is from Redding, California, the heart of conservatism in that Mad House State. I suspect that Redding built soccer fields for Rapinoe to play on as a child. Where is her gratitude? There is an old proverb: I plant trees because my grandparents planted for me. I wish you well, Megan Rapinoe, but as Batman said about Cat Woman, on the old TV show: “Poor, deluded girl.” Unfortunately for Rapinoe, if the full breadth of her Loony Left beliefs were implemented, then one day trans-men will say they are women, and Rapinoe will be out of a job. And let’s be real for another second, a good boys high school soccer team could beat the USWNT any day of the week. Conservatives want women playing women, and girls playing girls, and we don’t need Washington to tell us where to go to the bathroom, either.

It’s alright, Megan, I’m 55 years old, and I’m a whole lot smarter now than when I was 34, your age. Think about this, Ms. Rapinoe, have some humility before you are so quick to criticize our president and our great country. The problem with Megan Rapinoe is that she has only managed to conclude that the world is often quite wrong, but that is as far as she gets. Megan Rapinoe just didn’t drop out of the sky. She didn’t come from Bangladesh, and never would because of a million reasons. She grew up in Redding, California, in America, in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. It would be nice if Rapinoe could appreciate this, but apparently up until now, she can’t.
