From: Sandy I have just read your article talking about canning breads. I am into food storage and have canned for years. I have never heard of canning breads (until now) but would love to find out more about it. Could you let me know where I might find some recipes or more info about that. Thanking you in advance. Dub and Deb We were just fixing to send this off for today’s column in the CFP, but had another comment in from Sandy, whom we’d already sent Bonnie’s info to. Well Sandy responded back so quick, we’ll share her latest comments in today’s column as well! From: Sandy Debbie, Oh what a help.  I have been unable to find anything on this.  You have sent me wonderful “not to” tips which I am sure that I would have done.  You’re apple recipe looks yummy and I plan on baking next week.  I will certainly give you some feedback because once I get into it I always seem to have questions. I am so excited because the only thing sweet thing I have in storage is dried and canned fruit.  I am also open to any info that you might have in the direction of food storage.  Thanks again for your wonderful and quick response.  All info appreciated. They taught their children everything they knew about it. When my wife and I were married 45 years ago we were poor as dirt but were lucky enough to live in a place with room for a large garden, chickens etc. We haven't had to live like that for many years now but we can both see it coming back and have started preparing again. We live in town now but have room for a large garden, fruit trees etc. We also have several shelves of food stored away. We went through the Carter "heat or eat" years and can do it again. 

But, as the author of one of the preparedness books I read put it, the biggest asset to surviving is your attitude. You have to know you can do it... Choey *Great comments, and all right on the money! Pay attention people, times may indeed become very bad! Thanks! Dub and Deb

‘Ridin Out The Recession With Dub and Deb in “Miz Judi’s Kitchen’!

Note to Readers: There are a few things that Dub doesn’t know but one thing he does know is that the word ‘Riding’ (as in Riding Out the Recession) is spelled with a ‘g’ at the end.  But Dub not only walks the walk, but speaks like he is: down home, true blue, and plain speakin’ country folk.

Dub and Deb are both native Floridians, live in Central Florida, and run a small business as well. They have five children, and seven grandchildren.

Both love to cook, love to laugh, grow a garden, and generally try to “aggravate” most anyone around them basically…all in good fun, of course!
