Safer Streets 2011: Enumerated powers

Recommended reading after the election.

The Republicans are in office now, promising smaller government. Alright, what's our move? And, it's our move to make.

Free people understand the nature of the relationship between the governments and the governed. We're the boss, they're the servants.

Instead of waiting for the servants-elect to get it, we have the duty of instructing them to do for us what we hire them to do. This means telling them what to do and how to do it.

First, I am recommending a very important article published by our friends at the Tenth Amendment Center on enumerated powers. This will be very helpful between now and January, 2011. One of the most powerful realizations of Americans is in understanding the practical limits of our governments and how our sovereign independence of the citizen from them is a societal survival skill. Another realization is of the limits of our governments in every legal sense and how our independence from them is law. The Tenth Amendment Center's article on enumerated powers is an excellent place for every citizen to start in how to direct our servants.

Next, I recommend a Video, What We Believe, Part 5 at Hot Air. It's a cogent, personable and concise explication of our values which were at the heart of the right to keep and bear arms.

Finally, to round out these is the practical side of the ubiquitous armed citizen in the 21st Century. For gunnies who would like a straightforward collection of essays to read aloud or hand to loved ones, I recommend Safer Streets 2010 (ahem) my own e-book sequel to my hardcover edition. You can get it at Amazon Kindle or publisher-direct as a .pdf. More than a right, the practical aspect of being armed is that the health of the second amendment is the primary indicator of the overall health of the nation. Just how this is so is a short 129 page digital edition on how the repeal of gun control must be an early first step in fulfilling promises of smaller government.

Get these to someone you love so they can understand quickly our values system, our supreme authority and how our governments are only second in charge.
