MISSISSAUGA, ON, - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce its highest ever year-to-date sales with 9,321 units sold in 2012, an increase of 2.2 percent over the previous year. It was also an all-time best month for Subaru Canada's central region with sales up 1.4 percent over last April, setting a new record with 897 units sold and besting the previous record set during the same month last year. Although overall April results experienced a slight dip of 5.1 percent, Subaru Canada is poised to set a new milestone in company history as YTD sales are on track to make 2012 Subaru Canada's best one yet.

Strong Impreza sales also set a new record as Canadians purchased 887 units of the fun-to-drive compact car, propelling sales upwards by 23.4 percent over last April. These robust results have also helped Impreza achieve a YTD record with 3,329 units sold this year, an increase of 49.6 percent over 2011. "The 2012 Subaru Impreza continues to wow consumers and perform amazingly in terms of sales," said Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. "But we also have an exciting product lineup planned for the 2013 model year. As we introduce the 2013 Subaru BRZ in June, the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek this fall, and brand new technology on the 2013 Subaru Legacy and Outback, we will continue to build momentum for the remainder of the year. I'm very pleased that we're already off to such a strong start."
