Restriction On Pasta Tighter Than Presidential Elections

It’s no secret that Democrats hate the idea of election reform, because the idea of trying to win an election fairly is out of the question. I recently wrote a column where Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Michigan, openly admitted that truth.

During a town hall meeting with her constituents, the Michigan Democrat candidly explained her party’s opposition to the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, also known as the SAVE America Act. This legislative package would require individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, as well as a photo identification to cast their ballots.

Additionally, it would mandate that states clean up their voter rolls. As reported by The Federalist, a significant majority of voters in various polls support election integrity reforms

Slotkin explained something we’ve known for a while: Democrats are more focused on making voting easier than on preventing voter fraud. As Slotkin noted, Democrats often struggle in elections when they are secure.

“The other thing that we blocked yesterday was the SAVE Act. The act would literally allow this administration to rig our democracy so that it would be hard for any Democrat in any state to win an election.”

Let that sink in. Slotkin is admitting that Democrats see fair and equitable elections as being rigged. That is next-level delusional. Inverted reasoning to justify the ignorance of their entire party. To Democrats, wrong is right, down is up, and night is day.

Republicans immediately seized on this. Senator Mike Lee stated directly: "Are Democrats admitting that they can't win without noncitizen votes?"

The White House was equally direct. Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital:

"If securing America's elections through common sense methods like voter ID and proof of citizenship will make it impossible for Democrats to win elections, perhaps they should reconsider the methods they're using to 'win.”

To Democrats, ensuring that illegal aliens and other noncitizens can continue to vote in U.S. elections is the right thing to do, and any laws that ensure illegal aliens and other noncitizens don’t vote in U.S. elections and that ineligible voters don’t remain on state voter rolls is “rigging.”

The ridiculousness of that stance is so obvious that there is absolutely no defense for it. So, what does it say to American citizens who have to watch and listen to the Democrats blathering on about such a transparent lie?

There are many examples that make the Democrats' arguments look blatantly stupid, but Stephen Miller found yet another one that has the left outraged and drooling Alfredo sauce.

On July 16, Olive Garden started a new promotion that provides a Never-Ending Pasta Pass for $100.

For that price, holders get unlimited pasta, soup, salad, and breadsticks for 13 weeks.

There is, though, one requirement: A photo ID at the table, matched to the name on the pass. No exceptions.

When a customer asked whether the pass could feed an entire family, Olive Garden was blunt: Each pass belongs to one person and cannot be shared.

Conservatives immediately noticed the contrast. A casual Italian restaurant chain checks IDs more carefully for bottomless spaghetti than Democrats demand for selecting the Commander-in-Chief of the United States.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller appeared on *The Clay and Buck Show* and pointed out the striking leftist hypocrisy:

"We've reached a point in society where access to fettuccine at Olive Garden is far more secure than deciding who is the Commander-in-Chief of the country."

Slotkin admitted that Democrats need to cheat to win

When I heard this, the first thing I thought of was that it’s too bad that we couldn’t make the Olive Garden CEO, Rick Cardenas, or Olive Garden President John Wilkerson, the man who oversees the company’s day-to-day operations, the Senate Majority Leader.

So, I laughed when Riley Gaines made the same observation.

The White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson also chimed in, telling Newsmax:

"Olive Garden takes pasta pass security more seriously than Democrats take election security, sad but true. Pass the SAVE America Act."

The timing was not accidental. President Trump had addressed the nation from the East Room, demanding Congress pass the SAVE America Act without delay. Thirty-six states currently require some form of voter ID--but Democrats have blocked a national standard at every turn.

The liberal media, in an unprecedented showing of their wokeness, took a dangerous stance when several of the nation’s largest networks, including CNN, NBC and ABC, refused to broadcast Trump’s Thursday night address live. Others like CBS and Fox aired the live speech with disclaimers.

During his speech, President Trump revealed data his administration believes shows proof of foreign interference in U.S. elections. Information that was later released to the public on a new White House website.

After Slotkin admitted that Democrats need to cheat to win, the party quickly tried to divert attention. Slotkin's office directed reporters to a clip where she claimed that Trump had stated the 2026 midterms would be "rigged" if Republicans lost.

However, Fox News Digital checked the transcript and found no such statement. What Trump actually said was that Democrats "want to cheat" and that "the only way they can get elected is to cheat."

In February 2026, the House of Representatives approved the SAVE America Act by a vote of 218 to 213. This legislation requires voters to present a photo ID at the ballot box, provide proof of citizenship when registering, and mandates a thorough review of voter rolls against federal databases.

Polls show that 80 percent of Americans support the requirement of photo ID to vote, including a majority of Democrats and independents.

Yet another example of liberal Democrats turning their back on what America wants. What makes this story so disturbing is that this is a no-brainer of a decision, which should be something Democrats can relate to.

So, America, until the Democrats come to their senses, remember, you will still need your ID if you want 13 weeks of unlimited pasta, breadsticks, soup and salad. The greatest right in America is now considered less important than twirling spaghetti with your fork.
