Righteousness still matters!

It is most unfortunate that significant words in our English language have been greatly diminished if not forgotten. "Righteousness" is just such a word." If you were to ask the average Canadian on the street what the word means you most likely would be rewarded with a blank look instead of an answer. Most Canadians would agree that qualities like virtue, integrity and honesty are still important and expected of the people we elect in government. These values in fact are the very foundation of our society and to quote the ancient king David who once raised the question "If the foundations be destroyed what can the righteousness do?" When corruption creeps into a company or government you need not be a rocket scientist to predict the ultimate end unless the condition is seriously dealt with. To the extent that a society or government values and insists upon integrity in government to that extent and in exact proportion will that nation prosper. Which brings us to the latest scandal with Justin Trudeau and his government making headlines across the country. To anyone watching the goings on in parliament in Question Period is quite evident we have a Prime Minister very skilled in not answering even simple "yes or no" questions. His government is richly adding to the Liberal Party's history of fiscal irresponsibility and running large deficits. Justin Trudeau is has "enhanced" his party's reputation with virtually a litany of broken promises. In a matter of three and one half short years he seems bent on breaking all records for scandals, the latest one being the SNC-Lavalin scandal. Canadians took a chance on Justin Trudeau and his promise for "real change" and gave him a majority government. He has squandered the generosity of Canadians with a litany of broken promises, short-sighted policies such as large tax increases and a seemingly endless supply of scandals. To re-elect him and his government would be a scandal by the Canadian people.
