Robert Gibbs: Obama long ago abandoned the 'change' part of 'hope and change'

Remember Senator Obama? He was that guy who ran for President back in 2008. He loved using catchphrases like "hope and change" to capture the hearts of American suckers. By employing his near-indescribable oratory skills, he convinced a bunch of frustrated sheep that he was going to "change the way Washington did business."

If you were paying attention, you knew he was full of baloney. From day one, Barack Obama was a man who was steeped in the traditional crony model of Washington D.C. No one with an ounce of sense thought he'd really change the culture on Capitol Hill, but hey. It sounded good. Now, his once loyal voters are no longer so enchanted. They've noticed that the "change" half of "hope and change" isn't happening. If you're wondering why, former Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has the answer. This morning on MSNBC, Gibbs was asked where the "hope and change" has gone. His answer is telling. “Well, I think, you know, the ability to change Washington, I think, is something that long ago the White House sort of stopped trying to do and whether or not that’s a good thing, we will look back on history.” Apparently, changing things was difficult. So Obama gave up. These days, "change" is just another tick in the failure column. Par for the course.
