Sandra Fluke: All freedoms are equal, but some freedoms are more equal than others

Sandra Fluke took the stage last night to warn the nation that should Republicans take power women would be denied access to birth control, abortion would become illegal and women would no longer enjoy equal rights in the work place. About the only things she failed to mention were her fears that if Romney were elected burkas for women would become mandatory and he would “put y’all back in chains”. There was also one other detail that was missing from her secular sermon… freedom of religion.

---

It wasn’t just an unkind word by Rush Limbaugh that made her famous, it was her willingness to go before Congress like a liberal clown to demand that a Catholic institution give up their constitutionally guaranteed freedom of religion to satisfy her need to have unprotected sex. Fluke’s argument that Catholic schools should provide birth control to its students not only goes against the fundamental rights upon which this country was founded, and a law school student should know better, but 12 months ago no one was even talking about this issue. It’s not like Code Pink and others had been protesting in front of Georgetown, Loyola and other Catholic institutions for years fighting this supposed injustice. Quite frankly, no one cared then and most Americans don’t care now. For Democrats to pretend that a law student’s access to free birth control is a fundamental civil rights issue is a national disgrace and will only serve to further expose the immoral underside of liberal ideology.

Just like Georgetown has the right to decide whether or not to provide its students with contraception based on their moral convictions, Fluke has the right to:

1. Go to another school.
2. Hop on a bus to Planned Parenthood.
3. Pay for it herself.

But rather than rely on her own freedom of choice like a sane person would, as a brain dead liberal, she demands the Catholic Church abandon their morality to accommodate hers. Apparently to Fluke all freedoms are equal, but some freedoms are more equal than others. Of course freedom of religion isn’t the only constitutional target of liberal ire. They’ve been trying to get rid of our right to bear arms for decades and have been hankering to rewrite the First Amendment guarantee of freedom of speech ever since the Citizens United Decision. Liberal ideology has become such a caricature of what this country was founded on that I’m surprised that none of the DNC speakers showed up on stage dressed in one of those Code Pink vagina costumes. Like Fluke, all they have to offer Americans is carnival theatrics and empty promises that compromise our constitutional rights and are paid for with other people’s money. Rather than recognizing that the true strength of America is founded on freedom and liberty, they want to take our rights away to build their 1,000 year progressive empire where no dissent from liberal orthodoxy will be allowed and the sheeple do as they are told.
