As a former radio talk host, I applaud guys like Michael Savage. Because of a little thing called the First Amendment he and such luminaries as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Neal Boortz and others can express the inner turmoil that much of this country has to stomach. How long the First Amendment really applies to a free America under the Obama administration may depend on our Second Amendment rights.
BANNED IN BRITAIN
Now Savage along with 15 others has been banned in Britain because of incendiary speech. Looking down the list I certainly can understand the visceral reaction to the Muslim preachers, and even the wacky American anti-gay minister Fred Waldron Phelps and his daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper. They spend their time picketing funerals of AIDs victims. How nice to know they are using their time to besmirch the name of Christianity.
The Muslim hate mongers are preachers including Muslim activist Abdul Ali Musa (previously Clarence Reams), murderer and Hezbollah terrorist Samir Al Quntar and Kashmiri terror group leader Nasr Javed. Mix in a former KKK Grand Wizard and a Hamas leader and one Jewish extremist and you have 16 personas non grata.
During my time in radio that spanned 30 years, I saw the changes that defused the Fairness Doctrine. It was truly a time when real honest free speech and expression in radio began to grow. I fear we are now facing the PC police and soon an even more liberal Supreme Court that may move us in the same direction of the United Kingdom. When American politicians and judges are allowed to legislate our parameters of speech, and hate crimes become defined by those who disagree with conservative principles, the US Constitution, and even the Holy Bible-- we will have reached the point of no return.
I envision a day in America where talk hosts who speak the truth about anything considered politically incorrect, preachers who preach the Bible, and patriots who stand against ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS will be vilified.
We already have identified the ‘real’ threat to America thanks to Homeland Security! Profiling patriots and Christians as potential terrorists exposes the true nature of the Left and the agenda of those behind our current administration. Don’t be surprised to wake up one day to the news that the First Amendment has been blotted out, Hate Speech Police are first time visitors at our churches ( and they ain’t there for salvation!), and some of your neighbors have been arrested by the Thought Police.
