Socialist Ideology Of Current UK leadership Destroying Free Speech

Americans should help our great ally by using our free speech to expose both the socialism and censorship. We should also take this as a warning that our God-given rights are not safe if we allow socialism to flourish

With the election of the new Labor government in the UK, led by Prime Minister “Sir” Keir Starmer, the attacks on free speech have been horrendous. Britain’s Free Speech Union put it best: “The Prime Minister’s recent clamp down on free speech is deeply worrying. Since the beginning of August, we’ve witnessed the greatest assault on free speech in this country…..

In the wake of the civil unrest that spread across the UK following the murder of three children in Southport, Sir Keir Starmer has blamed ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’ on social media for whipping up violence and urged the authorities to prosecute people…. As a result, a man who has been sent to jail for 18 months for sharing something “offensive” that someone else said on Facebook, another man was sent down for three years for posting “anti-Establishment rhetoric” and a third man was jailed for 18 months for chanting “Who the f*** is Allah?”. Stephen Parkinson, the Director of Public Prosecutions, has even warned that people sharing footage of the riots online may be prosecuted. “People might think they’re not doing anything harmful, they are, and the consequences will be visited upon them,” he said. This threatening language… has unleashed a wave of terror across the country. (Free Speech Union, Sept. 3, 2024).

This attack on free speech comes right after socialism has made its greatest advance in the UK and they are intricately connected.

Unlike in America where few politicians could identify as socialist and reach top office, Starmer is public about his socialism. Unlike Bernie Sanders and the UK socialist Jeremy Corbyn, however, Starmer’s appearance deceives many. Starmer comes from a wealthy, connected, elite-educated background, appears clean cut conservative, and even received a knighthood in 2014. Despite this, he’s previously advocated socialism and Trotskyism, a prisoner right to vote, and even abolition of the monarchy. Starmer has brought in “fellow traveler” socialists to key positions in government.

UK’s Providence Magazine described Starmer’s new socialist administration “With the new British Government now firmly occupying the corridors of Whitehall, the population is now waking up….. That reality is not socialism in ‘name only’ as many British political commentators have said, but rather a highly dogmatic, well-organized socialist Government driven by a firmly held Leftist ideology… During the 2017 and 2019 elections, British conservatives could easily recognize Jeremy Corbyn as a politician honest about his far-left commitments. In contrast, Sir Starmer, like Sir Tony Blair, was able to camouflage his dogmatism by presenting himself, through his appearance and diction….. Starmer’s CV boasts time at the Bar and Oxford University…..

Starmer has promised to remove charitable status on private schools. This envious move is motivated by Starmer’s dogmatic socialist ideology…. this policy is an attack on the middle class, whereby many will now have to rely on the public purse for their children’s education as private schools increase tuition to fund taxes they will now have to pay. Likewise, Starmer is a zealot for the national religion of the National Health Service…. he does not believe in private healthcare because the idea of a big state structure and total equality is essential to his ideology… Starmer, who served gleefully in the shadow cabinet of Jeremy Corbyn, has a deep-rooted history within socialist circles. As an adult, he wrote for Socialist Alternative and the Socialist Lawyer whereby he stated that ‘’Karl Marx was, of course, right.’’ (Providence Magazine, Sept. 6, 2024)

Starmer previously wrote from the standpoint of a socialist Barrister “only when a concept of socialist law is developed will socialist lawyers join their liberal colleagues in the unfolding theoretical debates of the 1990s”.( Daily Mail, Jan. 11, 2024)

Starmer is to the left of Bernie Sanders.

In socialist nations, from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to modern day Venezuela, free speech is restricted to the furtherance of socialism/communism. Karl Marx wrote about the value of free speech and even blamed censorship on bourgeoisie systematic control, but this was only from a position under a capitalist system. In theory and practice, once socialism comes to power, the interest of the individual is always considered to be with the interest of the collective, whether or not the individual knows it. Socialist theorists were all clear about the need for “class consciousness” which would awaken people to their actual interests. Socialism requires a monopoly on the messaging to the people to centralize planning and execution and cannot contend with competing individual interests. (Stanford University)

With that socialist bent, censorship in the UK has reached alarming levels in a matter of months of Starmer’s election. The UK “grooming gangs” censorship scandal is one great example: UK Muslim men, primarily Pakistani, have groomed, drugged, and raped underaged English girls with little prosecution for the past quarter century. The Labor/Starmer answer to the “grooming gangs” scandal being exposed is the vote down inquiries and suppress speech and attack those exposing it. As with the recent prosecutions after the Southport murders and riots, individual free speech become more the target for the perceived collective good of Faustian peace. Free speech that seeks to expose the fallacy of UK Immigration policies is the target on not the crimes.

Americans should help our great ally by using our free speech to expose both the socialism and censorship. We should also take this as a warning that our God-given rights are not safe if we allow socialism to flourish.
