Detroit, MI, February 14, 2010: The Southeast Michigan 9.12 Project, a tea party organization, has invited all Michigan Tea Parties and allied grassroots organizations to come to a rally starting at the southeast corner of Big Beaver and Coolidge, at the Somerset Mall in Troy, Michigan on February 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Please park in one of the parking garages…the closest one to our event is the Sak’s parking structure.
The Southeast Michigan 9.12 Project is a non-partisan, non-profit organization of concerned citizens. Our belief is that we must strive to encourage a productive dialogue amongst all Americans, and address our nation’s very real challenges in an atmosphere that will truly give us hope, and that will lead to honest change. While we will be exercising our Constitutional rights by rallying, our mission is 3 fold: education, political activism, and organizing disenfranchised American citizens.
We will be peacefully celebrating the first anniversary of the modern Tea Party movement. As we celebrate this event, we will be exercising our Constitutional rights to peaceably gather and we will remember our accomplishments during the last year.
We will also have the opportunity to hear a short address from Judge Michael Warren from the Oakland County Circuit Court, a noted Constitutional scholar, who will speak about the importance of honoring the Constitution.
We expect our elected officials honor the Constitution as they swore an oath to preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution. We are also asking all citizens to read the Constitution, and to read and learn about American History.
This is a family friendly event and we encourage all families and friends to come! Remember we are only standing in the snow and cold for two hours. By doing so we commemorate those who lived and died in the snow and cold at Valley Forge, and all of those who have fought to preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution, liberties, and country. Our event will conclude at 4:00 p.m.
