Stem Cell Breakthrough

Scientists announced today a breakthrough in stem cell research. Two separate groups of scientists have been able to create human stem cells with embryonic qualities using human skin and not embryos, proving again that stem cell solutions can be ethical. This discovery will open doors for more research, funding, and the possibility of advancements in cures for debilitating diseases.

"Once again science is catching up to ethics, proving that the moral way is the most sound, scientific choice. This breakthrough allows scientists to further their research and continue to develop medical advances while still honoring the sanctity of life" said Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America. "Policymakers can safely abandon the politically-charged demand to fund the destruction of embryos to find stem cell solutions." Concerned Women for America is the nation's largest public policy women's organization.
