With all due respect I think your sentiments about Stephen Harper "moving on" are more wishful thinking than reality. Mr. Harper has barely had a chance to prove himself. His minority government lasted longer than most people thought and fact was the longest reigning minority government in our history. Harper has consistently proved his critics wrong.

I well remember columnists like yourself saying he should step down after losing to Paul Martin. Against all odds he ended up Prime Minister in the next election. As for the Liberals do you really think Canadians are going to be in that big a hurry to re-elect them just beause they have a new leader. Their problems are a lot deeper than Stephen Dion. This is a party in deep financial difficulties. But worse than that this is a party bankrupt morally and bereft of any sort of imaginative platform. This is a party of the past not the future. I predict Harper will continue to deliver the kind of common sense government the majority of Canadians want and that He will be our Prime Minister for the foreseeable future.
