Fellow fighters, I already hear words of warning, from concerned citizens, police officers, pundits, politicians and my peers in private protection:

"Don't confront car thieves- they're dangerous!" cautions this common sense chorus.

I applaud this wounded vehicle owner for standing up to someone who thinks our streets are the high seas

I agree. Car thieves and car burglars are often dangerous, "armed and dangerous," to quote an age-old law enforcement alert from the old days.

It's also not lost on me that any intervention with potentially dangerous subjects outside my home or at assignments could've resulted in my suffering ballistic injury.

Numerous times could've landed me an involuntary starring role in either headline below:

"Resident Shot By Intruder"

"Head of Security Shot By Suspect"

But for the grace of God and safety creation best practices go I.

However, street piracy, like every other form of breaking boundaries lately, has been politically promoted to a perverse privilege. Apparently, we're supposed to silently suffer in these cases.

People are beyond sick and tired of being attacked and stolen from like it's a game.

Some percentage of these sick and tired people take action, lawfully let me add, but nonetheless take action in response to rampant crime.

I'm not encouraging anyone to risk their lives confronting possibly armed criminals. That decision is yours and yours alone to make.

Many observers strongly warn against it.
