Surprised that Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto cancelled his visit with Trump

Dear Editor: Re: “Mexican President demands ‘respect’ from Trump, threatens to cancel meeting - Trump calls his bluff” I am little surprised that Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto subsequently cancelled his scheduled visit with Donald Trump. The bottom line is that the porous southern border of America, combined with eight years of Barack Obama’s deliberate failure to protect it, has enabled Mexico to offload its surplus population onto the United States, thus saving itself massive welfare, housing, and other costs, which have effectively been transferred to the American taxpayer. Mexican consulates in the U.S. have for years routinely provided legal and other assistance to Mexican illegals threatened with deportation (here and here), thus demonstrating the huge benefits to Mexico in shipping its surplus population elsewhere so that it can become someone else’s problem. Donald Trump is now going to put a stop to that.
