Sadly, it looks like the death of ISIS butcher "Jihadi John" has not gone unnoticed. There have been terror attacks in at least 4 locations around Paris. The death toll is fluctuating, but it looks like there are a minimum of 26 dead and many more have been wounded in what's being described as a coordinated assault with grenades and kalashnikov automatic rifles.
As the AP reports, it looks as though there may be as many as 100 hostages being held in a Paris theater.
A Paris police official said there were at least 100 hostages in a Paris theater following shooting and explosions at two cites in the city.
Multiple officials, including one medical official, put the number of dead at between 35 to 40 people.
All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to be publicly named according to police policy.
UPDATE (Dan): Paris police are now saying that attacks happened at as many as seven different locations throughout the city. The French military is now being dispatched to retake control of the city, but in the meantime there are still 100 hostages being held.
UPDATE (Dan): Police are leaving dead bodies on the ground because they suspect that other suicide bombers are waiting for them to approach the bodies, then will run toward the cops and blow themselves up.
UPDATE (Dan): Fox News just reported that hostages are texting to those on the outside that they're being killed one by one, and they're begging for a police raid.
UPDATE (Dan): Five explosions were just heard at the Bataclan concert hall where the 100 hostages were being held. Witnesses had heard automatic gunfire moments earlier. The police are now moving into the concert hall. Apparently it's a full-scale raid.
UPDATE (Dan): The raid on the Bataclan concert hall is still ongoing but police say they have rescued 12 people. They also report they made one arrest of a man who claims he is from Syria, was working with two other Syrians, and was recruited by ISIS. No way to know if he's telling the truth but that's what he said.
UPDATE (Dan): Police say they have killed two terrorists in the concert hall and the seige is over. Let's not forget there have also been attacks going on in other parts of Paris.
