The American Republic Is Broken

We have a $40 trillion tab proving that elite professional politicians are a failed system. It is past time to change the paradigm;

“When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear.” ~ Thomas Sowell

Over the last two and a half centuries, we as American voters have become very lazy. That’s not something you wanted to hear, is it?

Development of a lifetime, career, professional, elite, ruling class of politicians

It was hard for me to face up to this fact, but it is necessary if we have any hope of keeping our republic for another two and a half centuries. We have allowed the development of a lifetime, career, professional, elite, ruling class of politicians to take over directing the United States government. Shame on us!

What have we gotten for our lack of attention?

  • Most impactful is the $40 trillion of national debt that is growing at the rate of $3.8 million a minute, which our grandchildren will be obligated to pay off if the country doesn’t go bankrupt first.
  • We have the richest legislators in the whole wide world. They come to Congress as virtual paupers and become millionaires in a very few years. Legislators’ primary purpose is to get reelected, not serve the people who elected them.
  • Untold billions of dollars of corruption because of the failure of Congressional oversight.
  • Untold millions of dollars of corruption by waste, fraud, and abuse because of the failure of Executive Branch oversight.
  • Untold millions of pages of laws, regulations, and rules that nobody knows or understands.
  • Tens of millions of illegal aliens crushing the American education system, American welfare systems, and American healthcare systems.
  • A questionable election system that Congress refuses to correct.
  • A corrupt judicial system with activists instead of impartial jurists.
  • Lawlessness on a national scale.

So, what is needed to fix our broken republic? That is easy. All we need are common-sense citizens willing to SERVE in elective office and do the people’s work, and then return to their real lives and continue to be productive citizens. We have a $40 trillion tab proving that elite professional politicians are a failed system. It is past time to change the paradigm.
