The Chameleon in our Midst—It’s time to take Notice

Originally slated to carry the title, "The Enemy in Our Midst", a new title was selected for this article at the last moment so as to convey a message. The new title serves to offer a message that this is NOT another article invoking visions of Obama's term as similar to the reign of the Nazi's or the French Revolution. While many such articles exist to those extents, and many are quite provocative, this tale revolves around the back and forth, the weaving and bobbing and the double speak of Obama, and the kid glove handling of same by the media, that threatens to seriously undermine the very safety of our great country if not immediately addressed.

The actions leading to today have been unfolding throughout modern history, yet the purpose of this article is to closely examine very current trends in the Arab world. Barack Obama stealthily concealed his mission for the handling of Israel during his campaign for the presidency with his verbal assail on Bush,
"The Bush Administration's failure to be consistently involved in helping Israel achieve peace with the Palestinians has been both wrong for our friendship with Israel, as well as badly damaging to our standing in the Arab world."
Gesturing to one of his most important constituencies, Jewish Democrats, Obama appeared to make campaign promises of better times to come for the State of Israel and Jews worldwide. Fast forward to March of 2010. Israel moves, once again, to build in Jerusalem, setting off, once again, tense words--and more--between Israel and its neighbors. Rather than moving for diplomacy, diplomatic words, diplomatic posturing, or electing for some compromise between all parties--or even allowing for time to begin writing a new "Clinton Parameters" for the new millennium--the Chameleon changes colors. In what amounts to the blinking of an eye, the Obama administration (in a classic move to further throw Hillary under the bus) releases their scathing remarks, calling Israel's moves, "Insulting". So infuriated was the Jewish community that Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America called the insult, "Racist". The Chameleon's colors, if anyone is paying attention, are showing true. During the presidential campaign of 2008, Obama's books never seemed to receive the attention deserved. Particularly important for zealots, on both sides, are quotes, often taken out of context, which seem to color Obama with a racist or Muslim-sympathizing brush. One such quote, taken from The Audacity of Hope, when carefully considered post-campaign and in the light of current events, reveals Obama's true color:
"In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
Ask this of the Chameleon: Why did you find it necessary to seek out Arab and Pakistani Americans for personal counseling during one of the darkest moments in our nation's history? Did you employ the work of a translator for your meetings with these detained individuals, or were these unfortunate folks detained because they were "unlucky" yet spoke fluent English? How did you select the individuals you met with for your book? Were they indeed detained? Can you provide details of this alleged racism and/or illegal detainment? You claim that immigration in America has a dark underbelly; please elaborate. Are you referring to racist treatment of your family? By dark, is that a racist comment? You say that these detainees have been reminded of dark actions by America. Who reminded the detainees? Was it you who reminded the Arab and Pakistani Americans? By your statements, you infer that you will stand by Arabs and Pakistanis if the political winds shift. Please, Mr. President, will you, for the American people, who have been embattled with terrorists from all corners of Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and beyond for a decade now, explain that one excruciating statement? That one quote by Obama should have unleashed an ocean of questions by Americans, the media and the people of the world in general. Audacity indeed. Let's examine why it did not. The word, the moniker, the title of Chameleon is not original to this article. It was offered first for Obama by Hillary during the campaign of 2008. According to sources, Hillary was aghast at the comments by Obama to the effect that he considered Reagan to have better concepts in recent years than Clinton--and that the media loved the words coming from the Obama campaign. Hillary wanted to call Obama out for changing his stripes; no, let's call him a chameleon; it'll make a better TV commercial. NOPE, can't do it, was the word from the experts--they'll say we're inferring something about his color--that we're playing a race card. That's where Americans need to grow up and realize that they are being treated like idiots. If the word "idiots" is too strong a word for the intellectuals among us, at least realize that the Chameleon is playing a card game that you simply never pay attention to. The liberal media ignores each drop of the Race Card, and you do too. Case in point? How many would you like? During the campaign, Obama referred to his own grandmother, his white grandmother, as "A Typical White Person". Try as you may to back-seat this statement as "being taken out of context", there is no context available to a white politician today that would allow for him or her to get away with saying, oh that's "A Typical Black Person" for ya'. And as far as this article is concerned, that one statement is enough, we're going to leave Michelle out of THIS one... This hall pass on the race card is a phenomenally dangerous slippery slope for America. It has allowed us to give Obama, the Chameleon, carte blanche on far too many other issues for fear of being called racists. Obama has used racist comments, his wife has used them, and yet, when he changes colors and embraces the underprivileged, Gays, undereducated kids in Tennessee or pursues an issue that tugs at the heartstrings of ultra liberal voters, somehow, the racism that divided our nation just a few decades ago becomes irrelevant. There must be SOMETHING that binds ALL Americans together. Something we've all come through that will help us see that this man, this Chameleon is NOT our future. The polls say 43% of you still agree with him and want him to succeed. Succeed at what? My greatest concern today, returning full circle to this article's beginning, is this Country's safety. I am the father of a beautiful 4 year old daughter, a husband to the most stunning woman I've ever known, with more children in my life through in-laws, friends, and friends of friends than one can say grace over. I personally and professionally suffered and endured through 9/11, and the travels, losses, traumas, highs and lows I've traversed could fill a novel. Yet never have I been as concerned with this Country as I am this moment. The Chameleon has shown his colors--that statement is not based in race. Obama has spent the past months apologizing to our foes, and denigrating this great Country to one small nation after another. He has compared America to Greece and borrowed so much from China that we are beggars at the door. Now, at our darkest moment, he has weakened us in the eyes of Tehran and allowed Turkey and Brazil to strengthen relations with Ahmadinejad. A Turkish backed flotilla, against the warnings of Israel (also ignoring the invitation by Egypt), and harboring what many reports called mercenaries (confirmed as carrying gas masks and other non-humanitarian related cargo), under cover of nightfall, sailed towards Gaza at the end of May, 2010. Sailing into hostile waters, the flotilla was warned to turn back, as this region has been sealed off by blockade to secure Israel from further bloodshed as it endured when Hamas took control of Gaza three years ago. When the flotilla continued its course, Israeli troops descended and took control of the flotilla. International outrage against Israel ensued, as the world was convinced this flotilla was humanitarian in nature, yet Obama refused to weigh in for weeks; other than to, in classic form, throw Hillary under the bus, having her comment that this situation in Gaza was"unsustainable and unacceptable." When Obama finally DID gesture towards the Middle East, THIS was his response: In closing, the Chameleon has set in motion a dangerous set of circumstances. And his truest colors are showing brightly; dangerously. When Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Brazil, Istanbul-based Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (and organizations similar), Russia and others, realize this administration's true color:
  • Its underlying disbelief in America the Great,
  • Its desire to gratify the Arab world,
  • Its eye towards a socialist state,
  • Its racist beliefs and its belief that that's just the way America is, and
  • Its belief that America should be controlled by the monarchy known as big government,
AMERICA WILL BE SURRENDERED TO THE FIRST GOVERNMENT WIELDING THE LARGEST INFLUENCE OF ANY KIND! MY GOD AMERICA; WHEN WILL WE BE AWAKENED?!
