The Color of a Revolution, The Smell of a Nation Burning

The last few days of riots in LA are just practice for what is to come. Organizers are calling for riots and demonstrations in over 1,500 cities and towns in all fifty states. The protests are well-funded, equipped, and organized by the enemies of America, both domestic and foreign.

Just look at Egypt, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Libya

These are not the ordinary spontaneous actions to protest and let off steam by the disaffected. Instead, they are the manifestations of a new form of warfare designed to overthrow our current elected government and replace it with one more favorable to our enemies.

The techniques and methods being employed against us have been devised and perfected by our own CIA. They have been used to effect so-called "color revolutions" across the world. Most of these revolutions have not turned out well for the countries and peoples involved. Often what has resulted has been worse than what came before. Just look at Egypt, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Libya.

They are called color revolutions because the aggressive participants often choose an identifying color to wear to avoid fratricide in their operations.

The methods employed typically follow three steps:

First, organizers create an underground movement or cause, and recruit the disaffected, promising that they will have power after the revolution, Groups such as Antifa, BLM, Islamists, Free Palestine, From the River to the Sea, join with actual subversive elements from ISIS, China, and numerous others to gather a sufficient number of people to be effective.

Second, campaigns are instituted to discredit authorities and the current government. Current leaders are demonized and targeted. Donald Trump is an obvious scapegoat, but MAGA, conservatives in general, police, military, and unpopular institutions are also fair game. ACAB, ICE, No Kings, claims the Constitution is obsolete, No Justice, No Peace, are all second level attacks on legitimate authority.

Third, protests and demonstrations attack government and civic facilities with the aim of provoking a violent response. One sided media reports from a complicit media paint the demonstrators as innocent victims, and government authorities as villains. Government leaders who support a rule of law and civic order are characterized as "authoritarian", "fascists", "KKK", and other pejorative labels to inflame public support for the demonstrators.

It is often said that politics makes strange bedfellows, and the current collection of demonstrators is no exception. In addition to the usual cadre of Socialists and Communists who fervently believe that their dysfunctional systems are best for America, we have Islamists who want to replace our Constitution with Sharia Law and make us all submit to their god of the 7th century, there are Marxists who simply want to eliminate Capitalism and have the power to dictate obedience to their whims of the moment, various environmental factions who believe that the earth is doomed if we don't all stop using energy, LGBTPQRSTQ+ advocates who want everyone to affirm and envy their lifestyle, far-Left Democrats who want to recover the power they lost have joined the fray, and that doesn't even begin cover all the many groups involved.

The one thing they seem to have in common is that they share a discontent with the way things are and feel aggrieved because the current government won't let them do everything they want. They don't seem to realize that nearly all of them still won't get what they want after the revolution. The greatest danger to a revolutionary is another revolutionary.

It seems that every 50 to 60 years, roughly three generations, there is a time of civil unrest that reaches a crisis level. The last time we saw a comparable level of protest was in the late '60s during the Vietnam War protests. I was there on campus to see it. We had mass rallies and marches with tens of thousands of people. We had SWAT teams marching across campus, and the sweet smell of tear gas wafting through the trees. The protests led to the withdrawal from Vietnam, and a Communist takeover.

It wasn't until the Reagan Presidency that we saw a good recovery from that period of civic disruption. The Left is good at complaining, but abysmal at solutions. The protests of the time accomplished little good, but left an attitude toward government and civil authority of cynicism, division, and mistrust that lingers even to today.

I doubt that we will see another Civil War come from this period. I do expect to see more division, more polarization, and more violent attacks on civil authority. Institutions, values, shared morals, respect for other opinions, and other traditional virtues that served to govern a peaceful and productive society will be the greatest casualties of this conflict.

Strong action will be necessary to counter and expose the roots of this new warfare. If conducted by citizens, the activities are those of insurrection. The FBI, in tracking down the innocent protestors who merely sought to have an honest and fair examination of the results of the 2020 election, have had ample practice to perfect their methods. They should have no problem tracking down these actual insurrectionists.

For those participants who are not citizens, they are engaged in acts of war. If they are not in the uniform of a State, they must be considered saboteurs and unsanctioned soldiers. The international laws of war apply, and the penalty for such operations has always been death. It may seem harsh, but that is the risk of covert enemy operations. The minimum should be permanent expulsion.

We are fortunate this time to have strong leadership in the Executive branch. Congress is questionable, but there are a number of strong members there as well. Unlike during the '60s, there is good public support for the administration and its goals to make America great again.

We have experienced enough of the problems of the Left's authoritarianism, the Left's attempts to consolidate and increase power, and the Left's malign warping of our society, not to mention their dismal effects on the economy to be willing to have much sympathy for the expected protests. We can see them for what they are. We can see that they have no real concern for illegal immigrants, for the Gazans, for Blacks, or anyone but themselves. These groups are just convenient vehicles to be used and discarded when they are no longer useful. Increasing the power of the Left is not a cause most of us can get behind.

We are in for some interesting times, indeed, the times that try men's souls. Let us again affirm the value of this country, of this grand experiment in self governance, and not succumb to violence to satisfy the power lusts of our enemies. The protests and demonstrations may be unpleasant and even destructive, but they will pass if we do not give them the attention they crave. We must fight this new type of war with new types of weapons.

These demonstrations are like children's tantrums, albeit a rather destructive tantrum, but the response must be the same. A parent that yields to a tantrum has taught the child that they can get what they want if they escalate the discomfort enough. Only by remaining steadfast against the storm of childish rage can a parent teach the child the necessary lessons of cooperation and peaceful resolution.

We must do what is necessary to protect ourselves, but must not indulge in the violent reaction that the protesters desire. We must be the good parents and resist provocation. We are better than that.
