The Gods Are Angry

It is said that whom the Gods would destroy they first drive mad. It is becoming increasingly obvious that they are really enraged at us mortals – we’re about an inch away from the loony bin portals.

I’m not going to waste your time chronicling the instances of insanity we’re now witnessing – there are just far too many of them. I define insanity in the traditional way – doing the same irrational thing over and over again while expecting a different – and desired – result. If I were living in the past but afforded a clear view of what is happening in the future – in this case the present - I’d refuse to believe that this nation, which Abraham Lincoln described as conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal - has degenerated into a nation where all men seem to act as if they were equally nuts. What sane nation would elect a man to lead it without even a tiny hint as to where he came from or even if he was born within the confines of these United States as the Constitution demands? What sane nation would elect a man as its chief executive a man without one whit of experience running as much as a hot dog stand let alone a country, or allow him to refuse to reveal his alleged birth certificate to the American people thus proving his right to hold the office of President? What sane nation would allow his spouse to go abroad and vacation at gigantic cost to the harried taxpayers accompanied by 60 so-called friends and a horde of Secret Service agents whose housing costs alone amounted to a host of average Americans yearly wages? What sane nation would allow its chief executive to jet around the nation playing golf and politicking while one of its chief waterways is being polluted by an oil spill that could have been prevented had a government agency under his administration’s control done its job? What sane nation would allow its elected representatives in Congress to spend it into bankruptcy on ill-conceived government programs while passing the burden of repaying the debt incurred to implement them to future generations yet unborn? What sane nation would allow a federal judge to get away with ruling that men can legally marry men and men and women can legally marry women when he himself is an admitted homosexual and thus unqualified to render an unbiased verdict on the legality of such disordered unions? None that I can think of. Thankfully, there is a path to sanity beckoning to us just a few months away. Americans can begin to restore the nation to sanity by firing members of the majority party now ruling an out-of-control legislative branch in the November congressional elections and ditch those Republicans who cannot bring themselves to vote like Republicans.

Nation’s last chance to restore itself

At the risk of sounding alarmist warnings, it can be said that the November elections could well be this nation’s last chance to escape the loony bin and restore itself to sanity. I worry about that. Brother Obama and his minions cannot be expected to simply stand idly by without taking some steps to save their Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. The sight of that pair of uniformed and menacing Black Panthers standing in front of a polling pace, one armed with a nightstick, keeps appearing in my mind. Can we expect to see that obvious attempt to intimidate voters repeated across the nation on election day? I wouldn’t put it past this White House to mount such a polling place militia of armed thugs to discourage voters from going in and casting their ballots. Far out? I don’t think so. Anyway, be prepared to deal with any overt attempts to keep you from voting. This is after all, a do-or-die election and we’d better do than die. Semper Fi
