The Intolerant Weapon of Progressive Tolerance

The millions of viewers watching the Paris Olympic opening ceremonies were treated to blaspheme on steroids against the Christian faith. As part of the ceremony occurring throughout Paris, a group of drag queens created a drag queen parody of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper”. The actual Last Supper is a sacred portrayal of Jesus between the twelve Apostles at a long table at his last meal with them before he was crucified. This drag queen rendition featured a morbidly obese LGBTQ+ icon as Jesus wearing a crown.

She was surrounded by drag queen performers along a runway like it was the Last Supper table. The explanation for this appalling event , reported by the AP, as the ultimate progressive babble: “The ceremony’s artistic director Thomas Jolly had said it was meant to celebrate diversity….. Paris 2024 spokesperson Anne Descamps (said) ‘Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group.

On the contrary, I think (with) Thomas Jolly, we really did try to celebrate community tolerance….. If people have taken any offense we are, of course, really, really sorry.’” (AP, News)

Jolly also told the AP “Most of all, I wanted to send a message of love, a message of inclusion.” Progressives pushing alleged tolerance has become the most intolerant force facing Christianity and it needs to be exposed and countered.

Despite Jolly’s ridiculous claims this scene was not inspired by the Last Supper but instead “depicted a pagan feast linked to the gods of Olympus” nobody outside progressive defenders bought it. (Reuters)

According to the AP “religious conservatives from around the world decried the segment, with the French Catholic Church’s conference of bishops deploring ‘scenes of derision’… a mockery of Christianity… The Anglican Communion in Egypt expressed its ‘deep regret’” A number of Christian leaders and denominations slammed the clear “mockery”. Piers Morgan expressed what many Christians felt when he wrote on X:

“A drag queen mockery of the Last Supper at the Olympics? Would that have mocked any other religion like this? Appalling decision.” I would go further and ask if this kind of mocking would ever be directed at a progressive identity group like drag queens. We all know the answer.

Many have noted that those responsible for this “mockery” would never do the same with Islam. The left has learned they face death for such a blaspheme angering Muslims, though it goes beyond that fear. Progressives just don’t go after any other non-Christian religion as they have a special antipathy towards conservative Christians. In fact, the progressive left has gone to great efforts to go after and cancel any conservative making a perceived slight against a non-Christian religion. That includes the religion of woke left secularism. An example of this double standard came after the post October 7 university protests and riots “against” Israel (which included calls for ethnic cleansing of Jews “from the river to the sea” and threatening Jewish students primarily by Muslims and supporters).

Kamala Harris posted on X that she was “announcing the country’s first National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia”:

The aim of the Progressive Left is to stigmatize, marginalize, and suppress Christians by alleging claims tolerance and inclusion

Harris brought up the need for tolerance towards Islam. Left leaning entities like the Southern Poverty Law Center stigmatize almost any public figure or group which is perceived to be insulting non-Christian religions. Neither Harris, nor the SPLC will do a thing about the Last Supper mockery.

The aim of the Progressive Left is to stigmatize, marginalize, and suppress Christians by alleging claims tolerance and inclusion. Biblical scripture, what Christians believe to be God’s inspired Word, holds the LGBTQ+ lifestyle to be sin. At the same time, Christians are commanded to love and forgive even their enemies. Christians are known “not” to be a physical threat to those active in the LGBTQ+ community, as evidenced by this mockery. Regardless, Progressives see Biblical Christians as a threat similar to how Communists in the Soviet Union viewed non-believers in Communism. An element that must be purged from society to bring the future alleged Utopia without dissent. In conducting the purge, Progressives realize claims of tolerance are the best weapon for intolerance against Christians. True tolerance is universally understood as a positive value. By claiming the need for tolerance of groups like drag queens or even Satanists, they can commit the most horrendous intolerance against Christians. When called on it, they can claim they didn’t mean offense and move on without consequence. Their goal is to suppress Christianity so Progressivism reigns as the sole “religion” in the West.

It’s come time for Christians to become intolerant of those seeking to suppress and marginalize Christianity under the false claim of progressive tolerance. The teachings of Jesus have brought the value of tolerance to the West, but those teachings and true tolerance need our defense.
