The Trump administration has reportedly requested clarification on Canada’s primary sources of national revenue following internal briefings that highlighted limited growth in productive output.
Officials reviewing the data noted that while Canada maintains one of the world’s largest housing markets relative to population, it produces comparatively little export-driven industrial output. No officials suggested wrongdoing. However, one briefing summary reportedly described Canada’s economic model as “unusually dependent on capital inflows rather than production.”
