The U.S. Constitution vs. the Ghost of Osama bin LadenWas the tragedy of the fall of Afghanistan this year greater than the combined tragedies of 9/11? In the aftermath of the fall of Afghanistan, there is a bitter, stinging irony of wasted lives, wasted time, and wasted resources. All of those from around the world who died on 9/11 and all of the collateral death and damage from that insidious attack seemed to be mocked on the day our ”government of the people” arranged to exit the war ravaged nation. The bumbling, painfully protracted exit, and our betrayal of friends and associates in that nation is a betrayal of freedom itself. Our “leaders,” no matter how they attempt to paint the withdrawal, essentially sentences even more innocents to die at the hands of the same fundamentalist extremists that harbored al Qaeda in 2001.

If naive individuals, or those “woke” in the West, have eyes to see, there will likely be no mercy upon those whom we have betrayed. And, our “intelligence” agencies have now begun to warn of subsequent terrorist attacks upon American soil all over again. More frequent terrorist attacks upon American soil means a potential repetition of 9/11/2001. Even if such terror attacks are not as “spectacular” (as Osama bin Laden described the successful attacks), the nation is now viewed as a prime target for terrorism. In 2016, after the horrendous act of terrorism In Orlando that took 49 innocent lives (the deadliest terrorist attack in the United States since 9/11/2001), the deadliest mass shooting by a single perpetrator in U. S. history, Omar Mateen, the terrorist responsible for the attacks, stated emphatically innocent Americans are valid targets because their “filthy ways of the West…” are not acceptable to “real Muslims.” The betrayal of allies and our friends in Afghanistan, only opens the door for either type of attacks upon our nation and upon American citizens. This international failure has rekindled concerns of a majority of citizens who now have little faith in the will and/or the capability of the Biden Administration to keep Americans safe wherever they may be. In the aftermath of the terrorism In Orlando, then President Obama acknowledged that the shooting was a terrorist act, but he framed the issue as a hate-filled attack on the gay community that in his mind called for not for enhanced efforts to thwart terrorists, but for more stringent gun control regulations. In his words to the families of the victims, President Obama said, “Joe [Biden] and I were talking on the way over here — you can’t make up the world into “us” and “them,” and denigrate and express hatred towards groups because of the color of their skin, or their faith, or their sexual orientation, and not feed something very dangerous in this world…”

Muslim extremists are at war with the United States

In his worldview and political ideology, what seemed unclear to Obama is that the act of terror upon Americans occurred because they were Americans. The attacker had not expressed hatred towards his victims because of their skin color, or their religion, or their sexual orientation. The fundamental intent was to kill Americans because they were Americans -- because of what they represent to the Muslim extremists. Now, we have an even more serious reset of the conditions prior to the original attack on 9/11. At least now, Americans are not as naive, nor as unaware that the Muslim extremists are at war with the United States. Unfortunately, we now have a president who is essentially a puppet of his former boss, with more or less the same worldview. The paradigm that politicians like Biden and Obama operate from in decision-making processes is not in alignment with upholding the Constitution of the United States to protect American citizens and the Republic. Such decision-making was overly obvious in Biden’s exit from Afghanistan. Even if given the benefit of doubt, if as being portrayed by one narrative, the Biden Administration was caught off guard in its exit strategy, it only reflects badly on the U.S. intelligence agencies and federal government officials. A more challenging question for Americans in the aftermath of the bumbling betrayal of Afghanistan, is whether the American people can go back to their daily routines and the culture of freedom after the Biden Administration raised Osama bin Laden’s ghost. When Osama bin Laden was privately shown the video clips of the horrendous attacks on 9/11, he reportedly remarked that the acts of terror were “spectacular,” and praised the hijackers as freedom fighters exhibiting “defiant spirits” in a fight against an evil oppressive empire. The reason for Americans being killed was the “jihad” or religious war against the infidel, and the suicide squad of 19 who carried out the lethal plans were acting in the name of freedom. In another extreme, Osama bin Laden condemned the United States as the “worst civilization witnessed by history of mankind.”

Osama bin Laden's “Letter to the American People”

In bin Laden’s “Letter to the American People” in 2002, he called upon Americans to embrace Islam and reject the immorality that pervaded the nation and specifically the evils of “fornication, homosexuality, intoxicants, gambling, and trading with interest.” One other objective of bin Laden was that the American people rise up against their corrupt government and to stimulate the American public to revolt against the capitalist system. Some of those objectives seem like honest religious-oriented objectives to many; yet it is doubtful whether bin Laden was genuinely a religious man. It is clear that he used the religion of his people to obtain his sinister objectives and to send many innocent people to their deaths, lives that he did not value. The value of life is key here. Osama bin Laden’s letter to the American people is crucial in understanding the core differences between the ideals of the Muslim Jihadists in their newly found boldness to obliterate the West, especially the head of the snake, and the fundamental ideals buried within the bedrock of the United States of America. Osama bin Laden’s “patriots” fight a jihad against the corrupt system of government of the U.S. and the West. In Osama bin Laden’s myopic view of reality, only he possessed the truth, and the truth gave him and any Islamist terrorist the right to purge life from those who do not really matter in their general scheme of things.

Constitution Day commemorates courageous men who signed the document that became the Law of the Land

Our Patriot Day, celebrated in remembrance of the courageous actions of heroes who served their fellow human beings during an act of war upon American soil. Patriot Day is commemorated because of such insidious attacks, which were essentially against the Constitution and way of life of the American people. Today is Constitution Day, although many Americans would not remember it. Constitution Day commemorates courageous men who signed the document that became the Law of the Land. Those fundamental ideals woven into the fabric of the Constitution included the value of life, of liberty, and the freedom to pursue happiness. But, the question that needs to be asked at this point in America’s history is whether the nation is still aligned with those ideals. If the Constitution seems to be so easily violated at the highest levels of government, has it just become a piece of paper relegated to “relic” status and no longer adhered to or obeyed by our “leaders” within the nation? At the very core of our ideals, the nation was founded upon the precept that “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…” constructed with its “foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness…” Are there no American patriots today who will defend our Constitution as passionately as the Taliban defended their turf? Or, as absolutely committed to action as the “patriots” of bin Laden?
