In dishonour of Governor General Mary Simon Recipient of Canada’s Golden Fleece Award

The Vulgarian Lampoon

Mary Simon met a flyman
When setting off by air,
Says Simon to the flyman,
I need the finest fare.

She says then to the airman
I travel royal class
So treat me like a chairman
With bucketsful of brass.

And I want a limousine
With a deferential driver
So he’ll treat me like a queen
For I am an arriver.

Said the flyman then to Mary,
Who will pay the bill?
The amount is surely scary
If you want to have your fill.

A man like you relaxes
For I represent the King,
And it all comes out of taxes
Which pay for everything.

Mary Simon makes demands
For all that he can do
To answer the commands
Of this humble parvenue.
