This Campaign Is Over

Recently the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security received a letter from Patrick Lechleitner, the ICE deputy director. It was different from the regular annual report of ICE activities. This letter detailed border information that was not in the ‘we’re on the job’ annual report. To understate it, the information the letter contained was shocking. Here is part of the release by the Homeland Security Committee.

Last week, ICE Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner sent a letter to lawmakers detailing the number of criminal aliens on ICE’s national docket. As of July 21, 2024, nearly 650,000 criminal aliens were on the NDD—meaning they had previously been encountered by CBP, turned over to ICE, had their criminal history documented, and then were released into the United States.

The specific breakdown of what types of criminals have been released is just as sobering. The following numbers include both convicted criminals and those with pending charges for the specific offense. In all categories, the former exceeded the latter:

• Homicide: 14,944
• Sexual Assault: 20,061
• Assault: 105,146
• Burglary/Larceny/Robbery: 60,268
• Traffic Offenses: 126,343
• Weapon Offenses: 16,820
• Kidnapping: 3,372
• Commercialized Sexual Offenses: 3,971

These are the ones they know about.

Imagine how this works in the minds of those in charge of the border. It is so overwhelmingly important to retain a hold on power that it doesn’t matter that thousands of convicted felons have been welcomed into the country along with the other millions that have been waved in. All of this is to tip the electoral system so they can maintain control of the presidency, the justice system, immigration, etc. Look at the numbers again. It’s more important to bring in more than 14,000 murderers who may prey on American citizens than to screen and deport them because they really want those illegal votes.

For more than two hundred years it has been a working assumption of government officials and citizens alike that one of the fundamental functions of government is to protect the safety of its citizens. Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence wrote that it was to protect God-given rights that governments are instituted among men. Among these obvious rights were life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And yet the current government has flung open the border gates and welcomed nearly 14,000 takers of life without blinking an eye. These are not people who might be suspected of shady dealings in other countries. These are people who have been convicted of capital crimes and other serious offenses. They’re convicts. We have heard that some countries like Venezuela have emptied their prisons and sent them here. Turns out that was true.

I heard a pundit say recently that we don’t know how many of these came into the country under the previous administrations. Well, duh. How many administrations prior to this one had open borders and just let anybody come in? Were they telling known criminals to just come on in, the water’s fine? Is the current administration doing this? Why, yes they are. 

So I wonder when most of the 650,000 criminal aliens came across the border? My math skills are terrible, but even I can figure this one out. That’s right. Most of them came in over the past four years. Hmmmm. I wonder who had charge of the border at that time?

And then there are large numbers of people we hear are being flown in on taxpayer funded flights to be released into the country. Let’s assume that none of these are criminal aliens. The great fact checker Snopes even admits it. Here is their conclusion.

A Biden administration program was responsible for flying 320,000 migrants directly into the United States between January and December 2023. (True)

For a long time this program was dismissed as a conspiracy theory, then some inconvenient facts came to light. Read carefully and notice that the 320,000 came in just during 2023. The little hidden irony is that these folks that fly in are not counted as border crossers. They just get here like migratory birds. One might think that some criminal aliens might be flown out on those empty planes, but that doesn’t seem to have occurred to anyone. I wonder if the number of free flights in is lower this year than it was in 2023?

I noticed that missing from the ICE report were any figures on terror suspects we know about that have been welcomed and released into the country. Also missing were the numbers of “gotaways.” But I digress. Oh, well. No matter.

So here is the conclusion. The current administration has admitted and released into the country 650,000 criminal aliens to enjoy the opportunities and benefits of this land. They have done this on purpose. They have seen lawlessness and crime rates increase. It has been confirmed that these numbers are accurate. They don’t care. They’re fine with it. They are letting more in every day.

I’d like to know who thinks this is okay? Who, knowing this, would vote for the people that have been doing it? Who thinks that mean tweets would be far worse? Seriously, think about how someone would dismiss this as unimportant and support keeping the same people in charge.

In anything like normal times we would just declare this campaign to be over. How can these people have any hope of winning in the face of these facts? If the campaign isn’t over because of this, God help us.

Green, MD (R-TN) issued a statement following the release of new data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) showing that, as of July 21, 2024, nearly 650,000 criminal illegal aliens were currently on ICE’s Non-Detained Docket (NDD) and roaming free in communities throughout the United States. This figure includes roughly 15,000 individuals convicted of or charged with murder, more than 20,000 of sexual assault, and more than 105,000 of assault:

“It may be shocking to hear that the Biden-Harris administration is actively releasing tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens into our communities, but their own numbers conclusively prove this to be the case. This defies all common sense. Under President Biden and his ‘border czar,’ Vice President Harris, DHS law enforcement has been directed to mass-release illegal aliens whom they know have criminal convictions or are facing charges for serious crimes—and these dangerous, destructive individuals are making their way into every city and state in this country. How many more Americans need to die or be victimized before this administration is forced to abide by the laws they swore to uphold? This is madness. It is something no civilized, well-functioning society should tolerate.”
