High net worth individuals will be attending an exclusive art exhibition in Devon, UK at the beginning of July and an opportunity for sponsorship has arisen. The event, showcasing the work of renowned wildlife and sporting artist Neil Cox will take place at Kennaway House, Sidmouth between Friday, July 5 and Sunday, July 14.
Collectors of Neil’s valuable work include Jethro, the Cornish comedian, who compares it to Thorburn. Neil, whose work, by its nature, appeals to the sporting fraternity, would like to invite a local business to sponsor this prestigious event. “I am looking for just £1,500 to host the preview night on Friday, July 5 and the sponsoring business will benefit from media coverage and the opportunity of rewarding their clients with an interesting night out.” In the past Mr Cox, who has strong links with solicitors and stockbrokers in the area, says that such sponsorship opportunities have been snapped up by those who felt it a cost effective way of treating their clients while also consolidating relationships.

Neil’s work can be seen here:

Thirteen artists are exhibiting at the MS Centre in Wendover, Buckinghamshire in June and proceeds from their sales will go to raise funds for the invaluable facility. “We are exhibiting on the top floor of this brand new facility,” says John Heywood, organiser of the event. “Twenty per cent of our sales will go to the MS Centre, which is a very impressive facility with a huge amount of equipment. They have to raise a considerable amount of money a year to stay open. The event will include nine painters, two high quality photographers and two jewellers. We have not exhibited in this venue before. A lot of the local population do not yet know it exists. It’s a good way of raising the profile of the venue and the artists.” www.johnheywood.co.uk

Triumph at the RHS

An RHS silver medal has been presented to a group from the South West Society of Botanical Artists (SWSBA). Nine members exhibited their work at the Royal Horticultural Society's London Orchid and Botanical Art Show at Lindley Hall, Vincent Square, Westminster. Their exhibit Spots and Stripes was awarded a silver medal. “The society provides a forum for excellence in botanical art throughout the South West,” says SWSBA founder Meriel Thurstan. “This award is further proof of the high standard of work produced by our members.” The society has 125 members and exists for fellow artists to meet and exhibit and to encourage education in plant observation and conservation. The members were:
  • Jess Carr - Liskeard, Cornwall
  • Georgia Danvers - Leicester
  • Catherine Day - Dunkeswell, Devon
