Thoughts On Biden Dropping Out And Anointing Kamala Harris

With most Americans, I learned hours ago that Joe Biden decided to drop out of the Presidential race and endorse Kamala Harris as his successor. This decision came after intense and overwhelming pressure by Democrat leaders publicly calling for Biden to leave the race. In recent days, calls to drop out included the highest-profile Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Hakim Jeffries, and even Barack Obama (behind the scenes by credible reports).

These Democrat leaders even leaked calls for Biden to leave to mainstream news sources who had previously helped keep Biden’s fitness under wraps. Ironically, the Biden campaign theme has been Democrats as the defenders of Democracy and Republicans as enemies of Democracy. Regardless, Democrat elites pushed Joe Biden out of the race after he won his Democratic Primary as the ultimate undermining of Democracy. I have been clear in wanting the GOP to win the election, but my thoughts on his announcement are mixed and complicated.

First, since Biden’s horrible debate performance against Trump in June, I have been disgusted to watch all the feigned surprise by top Democrats and media figures who have known but covered up Biden’s unfitness. In the weeks before the debate, a plethora of senior Democrats and media allies accused conservatives of lying about Biden’s unfitness. The ubiquitous accusation by Democrats was that conservatives were publishing “cheap fakes” to make Joe Biden look unfit when he was fine. The White House press secretary claimed these alleged cheap fakes were “fact checked” as lies even though this included press pool videos provided to all media. For many months top administration officials like John Kirby claimed Joe Biden was as a paragon of fitness. When it came to the debate, most conservatives were not surprised at Biden’s debate performance having seen conservative coverage exposing the truth.

Beyond undemocratic that these same Democrat elites are able to push Biden out

I personally thought Biden did better than could be expected. Conversely, the average Democrat and mainstream media viewer had seen gaslighting for years and became shocked by Biden’s inept performance. They had been told for years Biden was fit and that conservative media was lying. Meanwhile, top Democrats and media figures knew better and yet played along with gaslighting the base.

Second, considering Joe Biden’s condition is the same as when he won the Democratic nomination, it is beyond undemocratic that these same Democrat elites are able to push Biden out. Over 14 million “little guy” Democrats voted for Biden as party nominee. It might be one thing if Biden had suffered a stroke or another similar medical event affecting his fitness after being elected, but that’s not what happened. The Democratic Party claimed for years they are the party defending Democracy, yet performed a coup on Joe Biden when their lies were discovered. In Democracy, the people hold ultimate power and not party elites. Many Republican elites made a similar calculation about Trump when it appeared Trump would be a losing nominee (due to the lawfare he faced). They did not force him out. The Republican voters made the choice even when it appeared Trump was risky. My thoughts go beyond party consideration to the fundamentals of the American Republic and the respect for “We the People” which Democrat elites do not respect.

Years of Democrat gaslighting and media malpractice

Third, if Joe Biden is not fit to continue to as party nominee due to mental decline, he should resign as President for the good of America. Starting with the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, Biden’s mental fitness and judgment has been shown severely lacking. The polls are clear the American people believe Biden is not fit. The vast majority, including Democrats, did not want Biden to continue to run for President due to fitness. The Democrat Party elites clearly understand Joe Biden was not fit for President, so much that they forced him out. The American economy is a mess. Foreign policy is a mess. The Southern Border has been virtually non-existent. America is the most disunited as at any point since the American Civil War. We face the potential for nuclear war with the war in Ukraine. We face the potential in the coming months for war with China over Taiwan. Many different threats and so many challenges. Our allies and enemies are watching us and know Joe Biden is not fit. For the good of the nation, Joe Biden must resign or the 25^th Amendment must come into play. I understand this hurts GOP chances to win, as Harris will have the power of incumbency, but it’s still right for America.

Lastly, I am downright angry we are in such a mess due primarily to years of Democrat gaslighting and media malpractice. Along with hypocrisy over Democracy shown today. This is the nation I served in uniform for three decades, including peace and combat, and the Republic I want my children and grandchildren to enjoy. Our nation founded on the idea that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. We fought elite rule to establish this Republic and we must fight again to ensure we do not go back.
