Getting past mainstream media gaslighting, we should judge Vice President Harris by both her rhetoric and actions as Senator before becoming Vice President, as well as her performance of the Biden/Harris administration. “The Hill” researched the Harris record and determined “Based on her roll call voting record, Harris is the second-most liberal Democratic senator to serve in the Senate in the 21st century.” (Source)
The rhetoric from Kamala’s 2020 primary campaign was clear and unambiguous. She advocated decriminalizing the border, she strongly opposed the idea of a border wall, she strongly advocated a ban on fracking, she supported mandatory gun buy-backs, she supported bailing out rioters in 2020, and supported far-left economic positions. We all know of the immigration, economic, and foreign policy disasters during the Biden/Harris administration, starting with the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and skyrocketing inflation. She can pretend to be MAGA now, but can’t change truth. Despite all this, I believe the greatest pitfall would be the animus Christians would face from a Harris administration.
First, though the mainstream media cheerleading for the Harris campaign has attempted to portray her as pure “joy”, the record belies that assertion. Harris had one of the greatest VP staff turnovers of over 90% in under four years. Subordinates clearly didn’t find her joy. (Source)
When she was Attorney General, Harris demanded staff stand and call her “General”, while lower level staff were not permitted to look her in the eye. (Source) Harris had the lowest approval ratings of any Vice President in modern history. The fact is that Harris can be quite joyless and vindictive around people, particularly Christians.
My evidence of anti-Christian animus goes beyond Harris’ extreme position supporting unrestricted abortion and the use of taxpayer money for sex-change operations (including prisoners as Attorney General and illegal migrants as VP). In 2018, then Senator Harris was lead sponsor and introduced the “Do No Harm Act” which has been described as “a bill aimed at gutting the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFTA), a landmark, bipartisan 1993 law that remains one of the most important federal safeguards for religious Americans…. RFTA ensures religious American have an opportunity to seek court relief when their religious freedom is violated. Harris’s (Do No Harm Act) would have taken away that core protection.” (Source)
As a Senator, Harris also co-sponsored the misnamed “Equality Act”, which also neutered the protections of RFTA. Also while Senator, Harris made national news for her questioning the fitness of judicial nominees who happened to be members of the Catholic Charity group “Knights of Columbus”, taking issue with the group’s pro-life and pro-marriage stances. Of note, Harris never took similar issue with similar group memberships of non-Christians or non-religious judicial nominees.
The National Review wrote of Harris’s treatment of Christians. “The Knights of Columbus was not the only large religious charity Harris singled out. Eighth Circuit nominee Jonathan Kobes’ membership on the board of Bethany Christian Services, a non-profit dedicated to helping vulnerable children and families, triggered additional irrelevant questions.
Of the group’s practice not to certify same-sex couples for foster care, she grilled Kobes on his awareness and opinion of Bethany’s policy and whether he had advised, advocated, or assisted Bethany on its policy. On another front, Kobes had made fairly obvious observations in an interview about changing “religious participation levels in the cities as opposed to the smaller towns” and “traditional conservative ideas on the family” that “have gone out” over a short time, as reflected in the chronology of President Obama’s changing position on same-sex marriage.
This prompted Harris to ask yet another nominee: “Do you believe that judges may consider their personal religious views when evaluating cases before the court?” This pattern of questioning shows Harris to be a rigid ideologue. Her conduct fed into the anti-Catholic and anti-evangelical sentiment ... her inability to set aside a political agenda to do her duty should be cause for concern.” (Source)
As California Attorney General, Harris showed a vindictive, anti-Christian spirit. Pro-life activist David Daleiden investigated Planned Parenthood for an alleged illegal body-part business. Fruits of this investigation included video and other such evidence.
As noted by the Washington Examiner “In retaliation, and instead of investigating Planned Parenthood’s body-part business, Harris brought frivolous charges against the whistleblower who exposed the gruesome business. The charges were ultimately tossed out.” (Source)
If elected, Harris would be unconstrained by media scrutiny, which will continue gaslighting. She would control the Department of Justice. Harris would surely issue executive orders conflicting with Christian beliefs, while not allowing exceptions for those beliefs. Harris would use her powers against sincere Christians who do not fall in line and would screen them out. Based on her lack of concern for free speech, we can expect a Harris administration to go after Christian speech as hate speech. As with partiality to drag queens and such, Harris would ramp up the “woke” agenda, which cuts against Christian belief and marginalizes sincere Christians.
Under Harris, many things would go wrong with the economy, foreign policy and immigration. That’s all bad, but worst is that Christianity would be further suppressed over what’s happened over the past four years. It’s time to put God back into the American consciousness and the Biblical values which made us great and free. We are one nation under God before all else.
