As Canada slips further down the woke drain, the awful Toronto Tempo WNBA team decided that they could be just as childish as the country’s Prime Minister, Mark Carney.
In case you haven’t been paying attention to the WNBA for the last several weeks, Sophie Cunningham, who plays for the Indiana Fever, did something outrageous by the league's standards simply by telling the truth.
Sophie had the audacity, when questioned, to say that women should play against women in a women’s league and men should play against men in a men’s league. In any other period of time in human history, everyone would have shrugged their shoulders and said, “no kidding,” but in this twilight zone that the radical left has created, it bred outrage, violence, and, last but not least, the immature actions of Toronto’s petulant group of clowns.
In a deliberate attempt to appear cool and hip in an LGBTQ way, the Toronto team introduced two LGBTQ mascots, with names almost as clever as “The Tempo.” The new mascots are Dez the Snapping Turtle and Dot the Arctic Hare.
Seriously, you have to ask yourself if the same marketing person who came up with the “Go Mennen” commercials from the late 70s and early 80s is making a comeback with these fools.
Obviously, this entire circus was drummed up to coincide with Sophie and the Fever’s visit. Dez, one of the new duo of mascots, is a nonbinary turtle that goes by she/they pronouns.
In a press release, the team said:
Think that’s bad? It gets much worse.
Please, this is about as stomach-turning as it can get. Wow, even on an airplane, they give you an airsickness bag.
The press release then went on to deepen the nausea by even giving the two mascots’ astrological signs, Dez being a “Taurus who spins the 1s and 2s in their spare time” that has a “particular fondness for soft shell tacos,” and Dot being a Gemini “whose hobbies can best be described as ‘hops and hype,’ and loves cotton candy.”
Make it stop.
Whitney Bell, Chief Marketing Officer for the Toronto Tempo, tried to explain the syrupy madness with even more madness:
Obviously, no one has ever explained to this moron that people don’t do deep dives into mascot biographies. Especially when you make them offensive with ridiculous, nonsensical pronouns.
Back here on Earth, it should be noted that the hypocritical fans of this dumpster fire of a team who want to pretend that they are so understanding and loving booed Sophie both outside the stadium before the game and inside every time she took the court.
All because a woman had the gall to protect women playing in a women's league.
But hell, in Toronto reality and common sense don’t matter. What matters in Toronto is that they have their LGBTQ tortoise-and-hare mascots, and one likes soft shell tacos while the other likes cotton candy.
Good Luck with that.
