A British police officer serving with a Canadian force was shot dead as he tried to arrest a suspect wanted in connection with a hate crime.

Constable Daniel Woodall, 35, was gunned down as he and his partner went to execute the warrant at a home in Edmonton, Alberta at just after 8pm last night. The married father-of-two died after being shot multiple times while fellow officer Sgt. Jason Harley, 38, was injured, police confirmed. Read more:
