True Freedom Requires Self-Discipline

Please review these words of our Founding Fathers and pay particular attention to the recurring theme and concerns the founders had for the future of their foundling country.

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." ~John Adams

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." ~ Benjamin Franklin

"One great error is that we suppose mankind more honest than they are." ~ Alexander Hamilton

"Liberty will not long survive the total extinction of morals." ~ Samuel Adams

"Religion and good morals are the only solid foundation of public liberty and happiness." ~ Samuel Adams

"We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments." ~ James Madison

Madison nailed it, “…the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves…” Therein lies the problem and challenge for Americans in 2025. The insurrectionists, those inciting the insurrection, and those funding the insurrection have abandoned “…the moral principles of the Ten Commandments.” and the United States Constitution.

"Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder." ~ George Washington

Too many men and women don’t have the self-discipline to withstand the highest bidder. Too many politicians have succumbed to bribery by special interests. Too many average Americans have succumbed to instant gratification, whether it be drugs, sex, or other “me, me, me” forms of gratification. These Americans, whether politicians or men and women on the streets, no longer see the value and virtue of We the People as opposed to “I want what I want when I want it.”

We, the virtuous people of America, made America great. Centuries-long efforts by our virtuous ancestors made America the greatest, most prosperous, and most giving nation to ever exist on the planet. Without America, most of Europe would be speaking German today. Without America, much of Asia would be speaking Japanese today. Without America, much of the rest of the world would be speaking Russian today. No nation in history has freely given more of her citizens blood and treasure to protect other people around the world.

"Now, mark my words. So long as we are a young and virtuous people, this instrument (the Constitution) will bind us together in mutual interests, mutual welfare, and mutual happiness. But when we become old and corrupt, it will bind no longer." ~ Alexander Hamilton

God has blessed America with Donald J. Trump and Charlie Kirk to begin to lead Americans back to being a vibrant and virtuous people. However, we have already lost Charlie Kirk and in just over three years President Trump will not be there to lead us further. Making America Great Again and keeping America great will require massive efforts beyond President Trump. We the People are going to be charged with fighting the forces of Satan represented by the insurrectionists at work to create the chaos we see today. Failure is not an option, if we expect to pass on the liberty and freedom we have enjoyed to our grandchildren.

Too much of American society today is lacking the self-discipline to delay gratification for the good of our nation as a whole. Every man for himself and devil take the hind most, is a recipe for disaster as a culture. That disaster is visible on the horizon, if we don’t change our ways.

For America, and even Canada, for that matter, must reestablish the moral and virtuous foundations that made our counties great. 

• Job One: Recommit to our relationship with God and worship regularly with and support our fellow believers. 
• Job Two: Recommit to the principles of law and order as defined in our founding documents. 
• Job Three: Step up and speak up regarding God and law and order.
