Trump brands Democrats as the Illegality Party

Trump brands Democrats as the Illegality PartyPresident Trump has effectively branded the Democrats as the Illegality Party after he secured Mexico's pledge to halt the flow of illegal entrants into the USA. The Democrats had embraced illegality over the rule of law as they refused to cooperate with President Trump in trying to stop this long time problem through America's Southwest Border with Mexico.
The Democrats had been calling this illegal entry a "manufactured crisis" whilst the President had been terming it "an invasion" and a "national emergency" . The following figures released by US Customs and Border indicated: Total Illegal Alien Apprehensions On Southwest Border January--May 2019

  • January 2019 -- 47,980
  • February 2019 -- 66,884
  • March 2019 -- 92,840
  • April 2019 -- 99,304
  • May 2019 -- 132,887
  • Total -- 439895
This five month tally for 2019 has already exceeded the annual totals for each of the last five years. President Trump made his position clear on 30 May:
"As everyone knows, the United States of America has been invaded by hundreds of thousands of people coming through Mexico and entering our country illegally. This sustained influx of illegal aliens has profound consequences on every aspect of our national life--overwhelming our schools, overcrowding our hospitals, draining our welfare system, and causing untold amounts of crime. Gang members, smugglers, human traffickers, and illegal drugs and narcotics of all kinds are pouring across the Southern Border and directly into our communities. Thousands of innocent lives are taken every year as a result of this lawless chaos. It must end NOW!"

President Trump had no compunction in calling out the Democrats for this rapidly deteriorating state of affairs:
"Democrats in Congress are fully aware of this horrible situation and yet refuse to help in any way, shape, or form. This is a total dereliction of duty. The migrant crisis is a calamity that must now be solved--and can easily be solved--in Congress. Our broken asylum laws, court system, catch-and-release, visa lottery, chain migration, and many other loopholes can all be promptly corrected."
Frustrated by the Democrats continuing refusal to act--President Trump called on Mexico to help him end this crisis by threatening to introduce a 5% tariff on all goods imported from Mexico starting 10 June - progressively rising to a permanent 25% on October 1 unless Mexico substantially stopped this illegal flow.
"Mexico must step up and help solve this problem. We welcome people who come to the United States legally, but we cannot allow our laws to be broken and our borders to be violated. For years, Mexico has not treated us fairly--but we are now asserting our rights as a sovereign Nation."
Mexico has responded positively and now signed a Joint Declaration with the United States.

The Democrats have been left high and dry. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) facetiously tweeted: "This is an historic night! @realDonaldTrump has announced that he has cut a deal to 'greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States. Now that that problem is solved, I'm sure we won't be hearing any more about it in the future," Schumer will certainly be hearing a lot more when figures of illegal entrants from Mexico are released in the coming months. Meantime other acts involving Democrats' alleged illegal activity continue to be officially investigated--including
  • Possible collusion with Russia to produce a false and unverified dossier on Trump based on Russian disinformation
  • Misleading the Foreign Intelligence and Surveillance Court on four occasions
  • Failing to prosecute Hillary Clinton for storing classified information on her private server

Being branded "The Illegality Party" will certainly not help the Democrats in the 2020 elections.
