So far left it could never be elected!

Trump hosts SNL, but the best moments came from Larry David

There's a good chance that you were completely unaware of MSNBC's "First in the South Democratic Forum" that took place Friday. It made little or no news because the Democrats have already settled on the coronation of Hillary Clinton, their all-white field of mostly-elderly candidates is a train wreck, and they're all just biding their time until they can go home and do away with the pretense of competition within their party.

That being the case, the "forum" was essentially a litany of uninteresting softball questions. Even if that wasn't the case, it was on MSNBC, so nothing of actual value would have happened anyway. However, the event didn't escape the gaze of Saturday Night Live, which used its cold-open to rip into the forum, the idiocy of MSNBC's "questions," Hillary's shifting accents, and crazy old socialist coot, Bernie Sanders. Once again, Seinfeld co-creator Larry David turned up to play Sanders who, it is implied, is so far left he could never be elected: Sanders appeared again during Trump's monologue, during which he attacked Trump for being a racist - all in the pursuit of a certain $5,000.00 bounty. And that was about it. If you saw Larry David's second appearance, you saw the show's best moments. The rest of it was... Well.... Less than thrilling. Trump provided the show with a ratings bump that gave it numbers it hasn't seen since 2012, but overall it was fairly underwhelming. Except for "Drunk Uncle" - a recurring arch-conservative alcoholic that I find funny, but who actual arch-conservatives might find offensive. Check him out below.
