Trump Says He Will Seek No Revenge – The Eighth Amendment and the Seventh Chapter May Not Be So Accommodating

If ever there was a likely political figure to seek revenge, it is surely former President Donald Trump.

And yet, he recently exclaimed that he will not seek revenge against those many democratic AGs, and lawyers who are recklessly trying to end his businesses and his private life.

New York Attorney General Letitia James ran her election campaign on “getting Trump” but it seems she is not satisfied with the recent fine levied against the former President. She smells blood in the water and now she is calling for the seizure of all Trump’s assets if he doesn’t produce the ridiculous sum of over 354 million dollars.

But James is unwittingly causing a retreat of other real estate entrepreneurs, and potential new investors are already looking elsewhere.

Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank says he would never invest a penny in New York properties and indicates that many others are following suit.

The Eighth Amendment says James and friends are oppressors

Letitia James is summarily crushing the future growth of the City of New York. At the moment she is gloating and boasting on how she brought down the great Trump bogeyman. But no financier or entrepreneur would dare risk the loss of capital in “the city that never sleeps”, even as James remains asleep at the wheel.

Election interference driven by hate will cause more damage to the city than any natural disaster, pandemic or invasion ever could.

Donald Trump has shown that his magnanimity and kindness has no boundaries. This is character. No, the man is not perfect, but we could only wish that more Americans would be half this noble.

The most cursory examination of the Eighth Amendment would be simple fare for a sixth grader. Did Letitia ever so much as peruse the eighth? It seems not, but we can be sure that Trump’s appellate lawyers, will examine its every possible repercussion with keen interest.

Let’s see.

“Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.” – Constitution of the United States

Greater than simple “karma” - the promise of the seventh chapter

The idea of karma is that “what goes around – comes around” – but this aphorism is altogether too casual. Things do not just roll around like water finding its own level. There is a promise given by Jesus Christ that carries a more powerful warning, that you absolutely will, get back what you put out in this lifetime.

Vicious unwarranted attacks against others for any reason, have a sure reward. But trying to wreck a life, for political reasons, is a request for that promise to be fulfilled in your life.

Exactly what is that promise. Let’s look.

“For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” (Mt 7:2)

Recently, Letitia James stood in a church pulpit and proclaimed this familiar verse taken from the book of prophet Isaiah.

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” (Isa 54:17)

After calling Donald Trump an illegitimate President and then using all the power of her office to prosecute and fully persecute him--using this verse from Isaiah to abuse her power and subsequently justify herself-- borders on sacrilege.

With angry rancor and blazing retribution against a man guilty of nothing, Letitia James should be told that there is is a better verse with which to answer her behavior.

Let us see that verse and ponder.

“To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.” (Lamentations 3:36)

In time Matthew 7:2 will come full circle to James, and then she will see she was never approved, appointed or commissioned by the Living God to vengefully attempt to destroy the life of a much beloved former President of the United States.
