Trump Will Be The Most Transformative President in History

TRUMP WILL BE THE MOST TRANSFORMATIVE PRESIDENT IN HISTORYDonald Trump is destined to become the most transformative president in U.S. history! Here's why: Trump is the centerpiece of a three-pronged sea change that is re-configuring U.S. and world governance. Deeply-embedded but overlooked traits of the American psyche are empowering Trump to circumvent political convention and unite a fragmented citizenry!
Donald James Trump is the only person in U.S. history to go from private citizen to president with no prior government service. He is one of six men who became President without holding prior elective office. Generals Zachary Taylor, Ulysses S. Grant and Dwight Eisenhower were war heroes. William Howard Taft and Herbert Hoover were cabinet members. Only Trump catapulted from private citizen to chief executive with no prior governmental involvement! It is no coincidence that in 2016 America's ordinary citizens chose one of their own over the 22 career politicians from the two major parties who ran for president. Trump's victory revealed a seismic shift among voters who are less concerned with political partisanship than with eradicating a rogue federal government that has become alien to freedom itself. This shift is the outworking of three converging phenomena:
  1. Conservatives are re-unifying to form the dominant ideological alliance within the electorate;
  2. Globally, a grass roots populism that supersedes political doctrine is emerging;
  3. Both major political parties are suiciding!

I. Conservatives are re-unifying as America's dominant political ideology

Conservatism has always been the dominant political ideology of America. But its adherents have been scattered among a plethora of political parties. Under President Trump, Conservatives and their moderate soul-mates are re-assembling under one banner for the first time in almost a century! America's Underlying Conservatism

Since 1992 the Gallup organization has conducted annual polling to measure the political moorings of Americans voters. The polls include Republican, Democrat and Independent voters. Responders align themselves along a spectrum consisting of:
  • Very Liberal
  • Liberal
  • Moderate
  • Conservative
  • Very Conservative
This polling is instructive because it probes beyond party labels to unmask the underlying ideology of the electorate. In 2017 (the latest year available) the polling consisted of 13 different surveys aggregating 12,766 adults spanning the entire year from January through December. This self-described ideology of Americans as measured by Gallup has remained remarkably consistent over two-and-a-half decades: Self-Described Political Philosophy of Americans:
underlying ideology19922017
Conservatives36%35%
Moderates43%35%
Liberals17%26%
The apparent gain for liberalism is illusory. As Gallup explains: "For many years, liberals were a small minority in the U.S., but their numbers have gradually increased to within single digits of conservatives. However, rather than being a broad societal trend, this mainly reflects a shift among Democrats, who are now on the cusp of being a majority-liberal party." (Emphasis added).

In 2001, 25% of Democrats described themselves as "conservative." By 2017 only 13% did so. This migration of conservatives from Democrat affiliation parallels Trump's gain in Democrat support. Ideologic trends of Independent Voters during the 21gst Century
Independents identifying as:20012017
Conservatives27%29%
Moderates44%43%
Liberals22%24%
I extrapolate several conclusions from the Gallup data, all of them ominous for liberals:
  • The apparent gains for liberals do not reflect philosophical change but rather the re-branding of the Democrat party to accommodate its accelerating radicalism;
  • 70% of the electorate is conservative (35%) to moderate (35%);
  • An unspecified but significant cross-section of the moderates are conservative-leaning;
  • The notion that the American people are polarized is a pernicious myth! The Republican and Democrat parties are polarized. But the underlying political values of the American people are reliably stable.
In prior years the Gallup poll validated that conservatives outnumber liberals nationally and in all fifty states. If all conservatives and right-leaning moderates united under a single banner they would never lose an election! As we shall see, that phenomenon is now underway!

Reuniting of Conservatives The golden age of American conservatism was 1860 through 1932. In just its second presidential campaign, the fledgling Republican party catapulted Abraham Lincoln into the White House in 1860. Over the ensuing 72 years only two Democrats, Grover Cleveland and Woodrow Wilson, were elected President! In both cases Republicans snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. In 1889 Republicans abandoned their scandal-plagued candidate, James G. Blaine, to support Cleveland. In 1912 two GOP presidents, William Howard Taft, and Teddy Roosevelt, ran against each other in the general election, opening the door for Wilson. Over those seven decades the Republican party controlled the White House through unapologetic conservative platforms. In 1932 Democrat Franklin Roosevelt broke the GOP stranglehold by transforming the Democrat party from ideology-based to coalition-based. He unified labor unions, blue collar workers, ethnic minorities, academia, and states in the deep south. FDR became the most transformative president in American history by re-posturing the electoral process from a contest between competing ideologies to a choice between ideology and disaffected voter groups! By 1940, a significant faction of Republican leadership had abandoned conservatism in favor of policies imitating FDR's welfare state. The party has been continuously divided since, with RINO leaders perpetually beguiling a subservient conservative base. Further, our multi-party system dilutes the voting power of conservatives and right-leaning moderates by scattering them among minor parties. Virtually unnoticed amid the daily drama of Trump's persona is the fact that he has quietly shepherded the middle 60% of the electorate (previously known as the "Tea Party") into a formidable and united majority! It encompasses:
  • True Republicans;
  • Born-again RINOs;
  • Libertarians;
  • "Blue Dog" (conservative) Democrats;
  • Growing numbers of African-American and Hispanic voters;
  • Un-engaged urbanites attracted by Trump's promise to revitalize the inner cities;
  • Blue-color workers buoyed by Trump's promise to restore American jobs
Undergirding this new coalition is old-fashioned American patriotism, not party loyalty or political ideology. Trump's agenda is simple: "Make America Great Again!" He has re-invigorated a citizenry weary of "America last" appeasements by both Democrat and Republican administrations. While the president has endured a sometimes-ugly learning curve, his lack of political experience has enabled him to expose government corruption with enhanced clarity possible only to an outsider. President Trump has superseded fractious intra-party cannibalism, ideologic litmus tests, and bloodletting over trivial policy differences. He has confirmed that our national survival is in genuine peril! His "America First" agenda of unapologetic patriotism, irreverence for political correctness, exposure of media corruption, fearless take down of the deep state, and "common man" candor has supplanted divisive issues. The 60% of the electorate comprised of conservatives and right-leaning moderates are united behind Trump for his fidelity to the best interests of America and its people. The political # controlling both major parties are confounded by Trump's popularity because he exposes their ruling class arrogance. Their conjured beltway strategies are no match for the mesmerizing connection Trump makes with ordinary citizens when he articulately mirrors their thoughts, presciently reflects their instincts and communicates using the blunt language of main street. I stated earlier, "FDR became the most transformative president in American history by re-posturing the electoral process from a contest between competing ideologies to a choice between ideology and disaffected voter groups!" President Trump will eclipse FDR's transformation using the same formula! This conservative / right-leaning coalition is re-unifying for the first time in almost 80 years! It will govern the country for the next half century!

II. A transcendent global populism is emerging

When it comes to populism the Trump-led U.S.A. is a "Johnny- Come-Lately!" British research by The Guardian newspaper and thirty political scientists demonstrates:
  • Populism has been on the rise since 1998 in 31 countries across Europe;
  • In recent European elections populist parties have garnered 25% of all votes;
Representing a three-fold increase in populist voting power over the last two decades.
  • The United Kingdom Independence Party and its leader, Nigel Farage, leveraged this populist wave to engineer BREXIT;
  • Canada may soon join the global populist explosion. "In the aftermath of the 2016 election and the rapid spread of populism around the globe, one country seemed immune: Canada . . . But Canada is ripe for a populist revolt, and [Prime Minister] Trudeau may end up being its perfect catalyst. ***When Trudeau was elected, there were Liberal premiers in virtually every Canadian province. But by the upcoming 2019 federal election, it is likely that only Nova Scotia and Newfoundland will still be red."
  • Brazil elected populist Jair Bolsonaro;
  • The Philippines elected populist reformer Rodrigo Duterte;
  • Populism is emerging in the Middle-East, Asia, and South America;
  • "In short, populism is here to stay and in many countries across Europe, it will take centre stage defining the political and social discourse."
History may record that this global populism presages the liberation of planet Earth from enslavement by the evil banking cartel and its constituent oligarchies for the first time in millennia!

III. Both major political parties are suiciding!

In 1828 the Democrat party was founded. It is now the oldest political party in the world. In 1854 the Republican party was founded. For 165 years these two parties have governed the United States. Now they are both dying, and from the same malady - irreversible corruption! The form of corruption manifests differently in the two parties, but the reality of corruption is equally undeniable. Democrat Corruption By pursuing "end justifies the means" pragmatism to its ultimate extreme, the Democrat party mutated into a lawless enterprise, preserving its existence only by systemic election fraud, tactical prevarication and strategies of personal and national destruction. The Democrat party faces inescapable demise due to its institutionalized criminality. Sooner rather than later, it will implode amid mind-boggling scandal! Republican Corruption The corruption of the Republican party is less apparent because it is camouflaged in self-righteous hypocrisy! The party long ago abandoned foundational Republican principles like limited government and fiscal restraint. Under the banner of "big-tent inclusion," it embraced rampant liberalism. In the process, it betrayed its genuinely conservative base. The "Grand Old Party" devolved into impotent schizophrenia! It will not survive outrage from its deceived base nor the concealed criminality of its leadership. It will die via merger as migrating voters currently scattered among the 24 minor political parties that garnered votes in the 2016 election consolidate around Trump. The Republican brand might survive in name only, but not in essence. As the two-party system polarized, it metastasized into a one-party monster that mocks representative government. One of Uncle Sam's legs was liberal and the other conservative, but his head ignored both camps in favor of the sinister agenda of deep state elitists! In the process, democracy died! Honorable citizens among the rank and file of both parties are equally victims of the treachery! Both the Democrat and Republican parties periodically produced great leaders and eras of noble governance. But both have become soulless! America and the world will be better off without them!
