Turbines at Normandy and Juno OBJECTION

Dear Prime Minister Harper, Minister Blaney, Secretary Delmastro, Minister Leitch, Please accept this letter as notification of our extreme objection to any industrial wind turbines at sacred memorials of war, where countless lives have been lost in the name of freedom and peace.

Placement of industrial wind factories at these sites (indeed we object further to ALL wind power, as it does not work, and is creating environmental and economic havoc), would be sacrilege and plainly speaking, embarrassing. We have now surely come to the realization that wind power belongs in the annals of an ancient history book, the section on the largest mistakes and "dupes" of the public purse ever. It will be a complete mockery of history to indulge in wind turbines at these sites, which to millions of persons around the world represents a resounding but hard fought victory over evil. Winston Churchill reminds us of this: "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile—hoping it will eat him last." We must not allow this wind crocodile any further passage. He also mentions that, " We contend that for a nation to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle." The gains from wind turbines are indeed a hydro tax, and everyone at every level is paying the price, even to destruction of entire economies.

Furthermore, Juno Beach Centre is a place where people go to learn the lessons of history, perhaps that the huge errors might not be repeated. Many Canadian children, among others, teens, have had their lives altered with a visit to this centre. To have industrial wind turbines, an anti-lesson in how NOT to treat others and the planet, intersecting these history lessons, is yet another sacrilege in the making. The profit gouging and subsidy gouging must stop. The denigration of sacred places must stop. Kindly take our message of protest to the French, and international community. Why Wind Doesn't Work

1. Wind power does not work to mitigate climate change
2. Wind power does not reduce CO2, or other green house gases
3. Wind power is the most deadly of all forms of energy production (see this)
4. Wind power causes ill health and abandonment of homes around the world when cited improperly
5. Wind power creates energy sprawl, and displaces wildlife, often to extremes where species recovery and health is impacted
6. Wind power causes death of birds and bats of a magnitude we do not yet know. In the USA, between 37 and 42 MILLION birds and bats are killed, maimed, and some species will not recover this massacre (Whooping Crane)
7. Wind power creates economic hardship, as the subsidies paid out of the pockets of ordinary people and industries, causes industry to go elsewhere or go broke (SPAIN, GERMANY, UK)

8. Wind power relies on government collusion and participation and legal alterations to entrench itself and parlay across landscapes, pristine forests, wetlands, prime farmland, recreation areas, Crown Land

9. Wind power relies on the fact that loan guarantees, fat subsidies and guaranteed access to the grids ensure its now soon to be (there are already signs) limping along success. The wind is unreliable. We need MORE backup, more coal, gas, nuclear, hydro

10. Wind turbines are manufactured out of oil and gas, and indeed are a child industry of oil and gas. They are mired in tons of cement, transported thousands of miles, using oil and gas, and contain carbon fibres in the blades that cannot be recycled, as well as toxic rare earth elements from China

While you are considering these facts, please, again, grant us a Federal moratorium immediately.
