Turns out the FBI gave Hillary crony Cheryl Mills an immunity deal too

You know why you typically grant immunity to a witness, yes? You do it because you need the information they can give you in order to reel in the really big fish, but they're reluctant to give it because the information will likely incriminate them too. So when the FBI is handing out immunity left and right, what you can tell is that lots of people are terrified of what will happen to them if they tell the truth. But the FBI wants that truth so badly, in order to nab the real subject of the investigation, they agree to the deals regardless. In the case of the Hillary e-mail investigation, the question we're left with now is whether anyone wasn't granted immunity. We learn today that even her top crony Cheryl Mills, who sometimes calls herself Hillary's lawyer when it gets her out of answering questions, was given immunity. In exchange for what? Letting the FBI read her e-mail, it would appear:
Top Hillary Clinton aide Cheryl Mills received an immunity deal from the Justice Department in the FBI’s investigation into the former secretary of state’s email server, House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) said Friday. "This is beyond explanation. The FBI was handing out immunity agreements like candy,” Chaffetz said in a statement. “I've lost confidence in this investigation and I question the genuine effort in which it was carried out. Immunity deals should not be a requirement for cooperating with the FBI." Mills served as Clinton’s chief of staff and counselor during her four years at Foggy Bottom and has previously testified on the matter of her emails. In addition to testifying in a deposition taken by the conservative group Judicial Watch in May, Mills also testified for nine hours in September 2015 before the House Benghazi Committee, and was interviewed by the FBI in May. The other staffers granted immunity were John Bentel, who was director of the State Department's Office of Information Resources Management, and Clinton aide Heather Samuelson. Bentel was found to have brushed back State employees' concerns about Clinton's email setup, while Samuelson was tasked with determining which Clinton emails would be deleted and which would be retained.

The rule of law is dead

The Worst Web Site in the World forgot about Brian Pagliano, whose immunity deal came from a federal judge, and who still took the Fifth multiple times. He's the IT guy who set up Hillary's schlock, homebrew e-mail server while still on the payroll of the State Department, but who's counting? That's an awful lot of people getting immunity in an investigation that ends with the FBI director announcing no reasonable prosecutor would take the case. No wonder Chaffetz is questioning whether this investigation was ever really on the level. It becomes clearer every day that it wasn't, and that this was at the direction of the White House and the Justice Department, who determined from the start that under no circumstances would Hillary be indicted. So the FBI spent a whole lot of time and gave a whole lot of people immunity to gather lots of information, and do nothing with it. The rule of law is dead, friends.
