Twenty Republicans Do Their Best Benedict Arnold Impression

I wrote an article last week where I pointed out that Democrats were great at two things: Hypocrisy and Lying. I actually have to give them credit for a third trait, they stay united to a fault. Democrats have actually managed to prove that at times, there can be honor among thieves.

The Democrats will hang on to their rhetoric like grim death

The Democrats will hang on to their rhetoric like grim death, even when they know that it’s dead wrong. They will also defend one of their own even though they know that the person is guilty as sin. The Republicans on the other hand scatter like roaches when a light comes on. What makes this lack of unity so infuriating is that Republicans won’t even stand united when they’re right. The optics of these actions make the party look weak and unorganized. Think about it, the Democrats won’t jump ship or even admit that there wrong and the Republicans won’t protect each other when they’re right.

The most recent example of this is the recent vote that was held to censure bug-eyed slime ball Adam Schiff. Let’s face it, Schiff is a lying snake, no offense intended to the snake. Schiff has made deception an art form. Schiff was one of the loudest slanderers of Donald Trump, telling anyone and everyone that would listen to him that Trump had colluded with Russia. He even insisted endlessly that he had proof, but of course he could never reveal it, because it was a lie. The Trump-Russia collusion hoax was not only proven to be untrue, but it actually did prove that Hillary and the Democrats themselves had Russian ties.

Now, every single Republican knows that Schiff lied and generally made a royal pain in the butt of himself. His constant criticism of Trump and Trump supporters, dominated the media and negated any positive news that Trump’s administration generated. So Representative Anna Paulina Luna, decided it was time to remind the public of Schiff’s misdeeds and initiated a resolution to censure him.

In case you aren’t familiar with the term “censure,” it is essentially a public slap on the wrist. It’s like having the teacher give you a demerit in front of the class.

A vote to censure another member of Congress does not hold any other power besides public condemning that member's behavior. It does not expel a member from Congress to deny the rights or privileges of that member within Congress.

Members of Congress who have been censured are required to give up any committee chairs they hold. Like a reprimand, a censure does not remove a member from their office so they retain their title, stature, and power to vote. There are also no legal consequences that come with a reprimand or censure.

So after all the damage and chaos that Schiff’s deviousness caused, surely all Republicans would vote in favor of the censure, …. Right? After all, it really doesn’t amount to any type of real discipline. All it does is publicly acknowledge what everyone already knows, Schiff is an unabashed liar and cheat. The truth is that Schiff deserved much harsher consequences. However, even though this was the very least that could be done, it would demonstrate some Republican unity.

Nope. Not even with truth on their side, against a despicable rival, twenty Republicans stabbed the party in the back.

Here are the “Dirty Twenty.”

  • Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky.
  • Rep. Kelly Armstrong, R-N.D.
  • Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer, R-Ore.
  • Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz.
  • Rep. Tom Cole, R-Okla.
  • Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio
  • Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa.
  • Rep. Kay Granger, R-Texas
  • Rep. Garret Graves, R-La.
  • Rep. Thomas Kean, R-N.J.
  • Rep. Kevin Kiley, R-Calif.
  • Rep. Young Kim, R-Calif.
  • Rep. Michael Lawler, R-N.Y.
  • Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif.
  • Rep. Marcus Molinaro, R-N.Y.
  • Rep. Jay Obernolte, R-Calif.
  • Rep. Mike Simpson, R-ID
  • Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio
  • Rep. David Valadao, R-Calif
  • Rep. Steve Womack of R-AR

Not surprisingly, six out of the twenty, or approximately thirty percent, are from either California or New York. States that are run miserably by Democrats, but apparently not miserably enough for these clowns to acknowledge the truth.

We are living in a period of history where intelligent people are silenced so stupid people are not offended. Unfortunately, we are also living in a period of time where the gutless allow truth to be overshadowed by the liars.
